Had my interview today.A good experience, I was asked the follwing questions.

Who filing for you?
Where does your spouse live?
What type of job does he do?
What type of job do I do?
Will I continue to do the same job in the state?
How long have we known each other?
How did we meet?

For those you who are about to do interviews, just answer what is asked of you,to the point.Don't elaborate and set up yourself up for more questions.

My priority date was 2007 so it took 7 years to process all documents. I received on email from the Nevada Visa Center on the 31 of January notifying me that my interview would be on the 3rd of March 2014 with 7:00 am. Had to take four photos in order to do my medical at the Andrews Hospital (US120), which took practically five hours.

As a person who hates to get up early in the morning I arrived at the embassy exactly 6:55 am and luckily I did not have to wait in the long miserable line. I was given a number A014 so I assumed 13 persons were waiting to be interviewed before me. I watched people going to and fro the windows to sign documents and to be fingerprinted. My number was called after waiting for 40 minutes and had to be directed to three (3) different windows to either sign a document, hand in my medical documents and police report or to get my fingerprints taken. I waited for another ten minutes (10) where I was called to be sworn in and was told that my documents were fine and I should be able to pick up my package at the courier outlet (DHL) in 2 weeks.

On March 17, 2014 I got my package and received a temporary green card which will last for a year. Now I am required to apply online for the card itself which will cost another US165.

Arrived at embassy fifteen minutes before the appointment time and was told to go into the appropriate line for the appropriate time for interview which was at 8:00 am. the usual security check and long wait for interview where i was asked:

first i was sworn in then the drilling began.

Q.who was filing for me? A.I said my wife's name.
Q.how long have we been married? A. we've been married a year 4 months and 5 days.
Q.how did i meet my wife? A. my wife and i met in Cayman she was studying to become a vet and i worked as a dolphin trainer.
Q.have i traveled to the states before? A.yes i have.
Q where else have i traveled outside of Jamaica? A. the states and Cayman.
Q.whats the longest time i stayed in the states? A. longest two weeks.
Q.do you have kids? A. we are expecting our first child due..and i gave the due date.
Q.do you have any photos with you today? A.yes sir i do. i only gave him like six photos of us together.

he then picked up a green card that had IV on it and stapled it to a page that had courier instructions on it and then he stapled my passport to the documents my wife had submitted and told me i was approved and that i should sign up for dhl to deliver my passport i tried to show him the confirmation sheet i had because i already had done that but he just said i should follow the instruction he gave anyways. javascript:emoticon('')

ceac went from ready to issued in 4 days so maybe another four days and i will have it in hand.

Fiancee and daughter had a 9 am appointment. Wait was a very long time but they said everyone was nice just asked them a few questions and asked him to write my name. They asked one question to my step daughter, if she liked me. She said yes and that was it. We were missing a few documents so this put us in AP for a month even though we did have the paperwork to them within a few days.

They are approved just waiting on the visas to be delivered to DHL in Kingston javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')

My husband had his interview today and was approved ! He arrived into Kingston @ about 5:30am and went in between 7-8am, although his appointment was not until 9am. He said all went smoothly and the officer was nice and friendly. He has to go back in about 2 weeks to get his Visa , but he is scheduled to pick up in Mo-Bay. All in All, this process took 13 months from Start to finish. WE could have probably done it within 10-11 months, possibly 9, but my husband is a procrastinator and when I told him months ago to get certain paperwork, as usual, he operates on his own time... :/ lol ...but I guess everything happens in it's own time according to the purpose and plan God has , and it worked out.

A few tips:

Start getting all necessary shots and records once as soon as you get your case #. Reason being, some shots have to be provided a week or so between each other, and if you need to get records from the MD office, then you will have time. Otherwise, you can just get all the shots you need.

Get your police certificate no more than 6 months early or else you will need a new one. It comes back within 2-4 weeks, citing there is nothing bad that way you can send all paperwork in at once.

Get EXTRA copies of your marriage licenses and birth certificates, ORIGINAL copies. You may have to submit full packets more than once and you have to send in ORIGINALS + COPIES of everything so prepare early.

Stay organized as it will help to keep everything in order. There are plenty of checklists on the NVC / USCIS website so make sure to use them !!!

Have PATIENCE !!! My patience is gone at this point because we argue over paperwork and procrastination but it's all done lol just awaiting his visa

I have a teenaged stepdaughter that wants to join so I told him when he gets here he will be responsible for her process, my stress level can't take this again anytime soon lol .

If you have any questions or need advice...let me know !
