Review Topic: K1 Visa

Rohan got to the embassy at 6 am, I followed at 7 am. We had to leave our phone with some people outside with no name tags, to keep our phones and camera. The security outside was very pushy, evertime they came around the line they demanded order and argued will everyone who was alittle outside the line, at the back of the line. Our appoinment was at 9:15, but we showed them the appoinemnt letter and we were let in. After going through metal detectors we were seperated according to what type of visa and sat in comfortable condition in a upstairs area. Me and Rohan had to wait till they finished the 7:15 appoinments. We were asked to take out all forms and place it in the passport, sign the back of the passport pics and the police report. Someone called us about 9:45 to take our papers and we sat back down, around 11:00 we were called to an appoinment window where the interview took some time, about 15 min, to go through our paper work, stapling them in order, and making sure it was all there. He asked Rohan to sign his signature a couple places then asked us to raise our right hand to affirm the docs and what we are to say our true and accurate. He then told us congratulations on our engagement and asked us the following questions
1. how did we meet
2. when and where did we meet
3. when and where is the wedding
I answered most of the questions, Rohan has a hard time understanding the interviewers American accent.
He then said congratulations, we got Rohan XRAY, and a pink paper with directions to the emabassy to Airpak where the visa will be released.
In all the embassy was suprisingly well organized, the people were friendly and polite, the only place I would say they need improvement is having a secure place inside to put the phones, or atleast uniformed people, and giving those guards outside lessons on dealing with people.
TIPS- make sure you check and double check paperwork and know where everything is.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband arrived at the embassy at 6:30am and waited two hours for a ten minute interview. he said the questions that were asked were:

1. how did you meet your wife?
2. when did you first meet your wife?
3. how many times did your wife visit you in jamaica? and what were the dates?
4. how many children do you have?
5. what are the ages and date of birth?
6. how many children does your wife have?
7. what are their names?
8. do you know your wife parents?
9. what is your wife mother's name?
10. what evidence do you have of the relationship?

After the CO asked all the questions he asked my husband to read from a paper detailing what took place at the interview, then my husband signed the paper, and the CO told him where to go to pick up his visa. YEY!!!!!

My husband said it was an easy interview and if you have your stuff together it will be fine.
