Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I got to the embassy at 7 am, I asked to the person in charge of the lines, she asked me to show her the letter, I explained that I got my interview by phone, so she asked me the first page of the visa instruction with my case number and told me to wait, I waited for one hour and finally at 8 am I went in the usem.
inside I went to line #40 where a nice woman gave me a green folder to organize all the papers, I had to put the I 864 (take copies with you) and the DS 230 too. after that she told me to sit and wait. after 3 hours of waiting I was called to wondow #7 and a nice woman too asked me who was the petitioner, and organize all the papers and open the medical and the migratory certificate and put them back in a folder with some new forms in there (for the consul to fill) .
she told me to sit and wait for fingerprint taken, so after 2o mins they called me again and had my fingerprints taken, and 10 mins later I was called to window 1 where I paid 808.000 (404) cus it hasnt had paid before. then the cashier told me to wait for my interview.
it was a cold day, it rained cats and dogs, and as it was in the outside with a roof, but you could get wet easily cus it was rainig like crazy . my feet were frozen. I saw many k1s got denied and I was kind of nervous. and Finally, at 2. 20 pm the consul said my name in window 4, the conversations was in spanish, she spoke to me in English too, she apologize but i said I could understand since my hubby doesnt speak spanish completely. so she asked where we met and it was funny cus ten mins later she asked the same, she asked me about my exchange visa (J1) I gave her the DS 2019 ans explained her why I had 3 of those. then, she asked me to show her pics, there is one in which my husband is holding a guanabana so she laughed and I explained that he really loves that fruit cus it's not common in usa, she asked me where the pics were taken, how many times has he been to colombia (6 ) I gave her dates and everything, I explained why he couldnt have come thi time, she asked where he owrked so I talked a lot about his ex job and his actual one.
she typed something and I was freezing and nervous, but I was sure what I was saying cus it is true. and finally, she smiled at me and told me i could go to Domesa and pay i was like, can you pich me??? lol
In general it was very smooth but the winter was the worst thing today, In was in the USEM until 3 10 pm and I got there at 7am, my advise is get there on time not before. they let people in at 7.30 am anyways. goos luck to al those who read my review,

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our Interview at the Bogota Embassy was on Oct 7th 2010.

Maritza and I arrived in Bogota on Sunday, 3 Oct. We spent Monday - Wednesday doing the Exams and Vaccines, as well as a visit to DAS to pick a document that was waiting for her since about 3 weeks ago.

Thursday was the interview. We truly felt blessed with the weather, since it had rained all week and was cold all day long for the past 4 days. This day was warmer than we had seen all week, and the sun was out..

Maritza and I arrived at about 5:45 am. There was already about a dozen people lined up. We were soon asked to move to an area closer to the Embassy Gate where a women came out and started giving instructions over a PA System. They first separated the Line by Visa Type. K Visas were moved to line 3. They then started giving out instructions about what items to have in your hand.. The Items they were looking for were Beneficiary Passport, 4 Passport Photos, DS-156, Interview Lettter from P-4, and my Job Letter (Original).

After confirming your passport and Interview Letter, we passed through Security Gate..

Once inside the Embassy, we were directed to a Desk where documents were confirmed. All Applicants were givin a folder with instructions taped on the inside cover of the folder explaining which documents to place in the folder..

The things they asked for was DS156, DS156K, Passport, Passport photos, DAS police certificate, DAS Carta Migratorio (Sealed Envelope from DAS), Birth Certificate (Original), Job Letter, and my 3 past years Tax Returns.

Once those items were assembled, you were again required to return to the desk where your documents were inspected. We were then directed over to windows 30 - 35 waiting area. we sat for about 2 hours. Maritza was called. I went up with her but was told to sit down. The lady went throught Maritza\'s documents and asked her how we met.. We were then directed over to an area near windows 2-7 where we wainted again for about 90 minutes.. Maritza was called and agian went alone to the window. She was asked 2 questions about my last trip to Visit her and How we met. Maritza told me the lady was friendly and smiled at her and told her her documents looked very good and was approving the VISA...

my main suggestions is to take the time to prepare ahead of time. Make sure you start early getting your tax documents in order and have your fiancee start gathering her required document early.. You can do much of this while waiting for NOA2..

We had all the normal evidence of our relationship, but they asked for nothing. I was never interviewed.

I can\'t get over how simple and painless the Embassy Experience was and how the Approval was given.. We had tons of evidence, but the didn\'t aske for any of it..

Maritza and I spent most of the day wondering if it was really over and our approval was real or had we dreamed it...

The US embassy is once of the nicest I\'ve seen, the do sell food, drinks inside and the restrooms are clean.. Great Experience overall..

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Gracias!
