Straitforward interview. My spouse's command of English is intermediate so no interpreter was needed. A few questions about how we met, what have we done together since married. Provided photos and proof of commingling funds, insurance and IRA beneficiary. Learned that the I-130 concurrent filing was not needed. And medical report was not asked for. Both wasted money.

Review Topic: Other Experience

My I-130 was sent here after being at CSC for almost 5 months. The reason? They wanted to schedule me for an interview before they approved the i-130 because my husband was in removal proceedings when we got married. Fair enough.

I went to a total of 3 infopasses here. Within 5 days of the first one I received an RFE after completing a service request form. I returned the evidence requested the very next day. After not hearing anything for almost 3 months I made another infopass (I won't get into the 2nd one as it didn't help me at all) for the day after the deadline for evidence submission. By some stroke of luck my number was called by the officer adjudicating my case. He was a HUGE help and took my evidence, by hand, right then and there as the evidence STILL had not hit my file (after almost 3 months time!!!). He said he'd work on our file later that day or the following business day. Sure enough he kept his word! We were approved on a Monday after a Friday infopass,... read complete review

We arrived 15 minutes before our appointment time. A few minutes after our appointed time, the officier in charge of our interview came out to explain that she was running behind schedule due to issues with other applicants ahead of us. Our interview started about 50 minutes after the appointed time, the officier was very polite and friendly, and mentioned several times again about not wanting to hold us up, since we had waited so long. The questions that we were asked seemed to be geared toward verifying the information that was written on our I-485 and I-130. There was no digging into our personal lives or asking anything that could be considered a "trick" question. We carried everything with us that I could possibly think we might need. What did prove to be useful was having additional papers showing accounts in both names (a few new things that we didn't have when we sent original package). The discussion lasted perhaps 20 minutes, at the end of which we received a paper to use as... read complete review

AOS from B2 visa (more than 180 days overstay)

Interview in Fairfax, VA----Scheduled appointment time was 9:30 AM

We arrived at 9:05 AM and passed quickly through security, handed the notice to the desk woman who told us to take a sit and wait for our name to be called. At 9:10 AM, we were seated among a lot of couples, some with attorneys and others with kids. The mood seemed relaxed.

At 9:50 AM, we were called by a white male in his early thirty, who somehow seemed more nervous than we were. He led us to his office and swore us in before we sat down. He shuffled through our application then he asked for our passports and other state issued IDs.He wrote a couple of notes on a sheet of paper, did more paper shuffling, asked if we were still living at the same address, then he asked how did we meet. Since he was not looking at any of us in particular,I asked him who should answer the question; he replied who ever felt like it could do ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our interview at 1:30pm on Thursday 12th July 2012 and it had sat in our diaries for what seemed to be forever.

We took the metro out to Dunn-Loring in Virginia which took nearly an hour as it was pretty much the end of the Orange line. We made a point of getting there in plenty of time and went through the officious security about 20 mins before our appointment.

We had our names called by a lovely IO called Vivienne about 15 mins late. She took us to her office and made us swear an oath.

I had made a point of putting any relevant information in plastic wallets in a big folder. She remarked that our case was quite an easy one to sort and that she only had two more to go that day.

The questions for my wife (the petitioner) was "What date were you married?" and that was it. The rest of the questions were really conversational. We provided evidence of a joint bank account and she had our joint lease on file. She took 3 or ... read complete review
