Review Topic: Naturalization

The Portland Oregon local office of the USCIS is really nice; everything worked great. So, they have finally moved in their new and permanent home, and we have been there now three times. They are VERY easy to find, with super easy parking right in front, both street parking, and a super easy little public parking lot right across the street. The front door security could not be faster, or easier. The place is very organized, and timely. There is nothing close to them in the way of food, gas, coffee, or passport photos, so arrive prepared.
When you go, have everything you need. Have it all organized, and be sure you have the required photos. We have seen several people come and go crying because they forgot their photos.
We recommend a little motel right across the river, like a 5 minute drive, (no commute), and 10 minutes with bad commute. The name is the Rodeway Inn, Convention center: 305 N Broadway, Portland, OR, 97227 No, I d not get a commission, I jus... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hello all! Long time lurker, just joined VJ to give you all an update.

Met at my now wife online in 2006 and we’ve been close friends ever since. We developed an online business selling 3D items in an online game (Second Life) and made good money for a few years. We were both married to other people at the time and there were no secrets about our online activities. She went on to get divorced and lived with her son; I didnt visit her until 2016 - as a friend only - when my then wife told me she wanted a divorce (and not for the reason you’re now thinking! lol) so I ended up staying in the USA. It was just before I was due to return to the UK on the expiration of my 90 days that my now wife proposed so I ended up staying.

We used a lawyer to file the I-130 and I-485 in June, PD was 7 June. An immediate RFE for the medical which I had on the 13th (and all clear according to the unofficial copy the doctor gave me (shhh)). Biometrics in July; ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hi all, i have a question, i have had my adjustment of status interview but the online status has not yet been updated. It has been 3 months since that, and i have idea of what is going on. Based on the interview, it seemed like everything went fine and i should be getting it soon enough. It is for a family based immigration, not marriage.

Any idea of why it is being delayed ? Or atleast the online portal, since it still says i am scheduled for interview in september.

Any help is appreciated

Had the interview scheduled at 8 am. We arrived at 7:30 and was called in at approx. 7:45am by the immigration officer. My wife and I were asked about how we met, who proposed to who, and if our parents knew about our relationship.

To be honest it seemed more like a casual conversation than an interview. Once we were done talking we showed the officer our photo album and she asked questions about the people at our church wedding. After this the questions that followed were the yes/no ones from the application and about my previous DACA status.

Once that was done our officer said that we were approved and that we should receive our card in 7-10 days.

We were out of there by 8:20.

Review Topic: General Review

This is the best USCIS office ever! Friendly staff, relatively short wait times, super clean and modern office. Conveniently located to public transit. We've had to go there twice to deal with an erroneous green card and the staff has been awesome. Even the security guards are nice. If you come prepared with all your docs, I'm sure you'll have a very pleasant experience. It's best to go by public transit as the local street car stops very close by.
