We entered the building about 35 minutes prior to our appointment time to ensure that we got through security and checked in at reception. You wait upstairs until they call your name (not number) and walk through to the offices at the back. We were waiting about 45/60 minutes until we were called. The officer was very nice (I didn't catch his name but he had a slight speech impediment). He asked us our names, for our identification and then took my fingerprints and a photograph. He asked me about 80% of the questions from the I-485 general inadmissibility section. He asked if I had ever had a job, what I was doing in my waiting period and what plans we had for the future. He asked us if we had any pets, any children and any plans for this year. He asked about our living situation so I gave him a letter from our roommate stating our situation. Thoroughly pleasant experience. Security, checking in took only a few minutes. My interviewer was running a little late (~20 minutes), so we rushed through everything. Started with the 6 civic questions and the read-write test, then quickly going through the details of my application. She didn't want to see any original documents (or any documents at all). We chit-chatted for a minute about the vacation I just returned from, and I was out of her office in 7 minutes. Quick and painless. Love the Portland USCIS office. Everybody is just really nice there (also for the biometrics).

Called on time, pleasant officer, 15-20 minutes of questions on how well we knew each other’s family, usual security questions, had I ever voted, had I ever claimed to be a US citizen, then told we were approved.
