Review Topic: Lifting Conditions

The whole process was very smooth. Our interviewer was friendly. He explained that, since I didn't have an interview for AOS, this interview would cover the questions they would normally ask in that interview, as well as the questions they would normally ask for ROC.

The questions were mostly about the timeline of our relationship (he asked my husband some questions about that too), e.g. when did you meet and how; when did my husband propose; where were you living at each stage of the relationship; when and where did you get married; etc. He also asked questions about where we lived in the US (we've had 3 addresses) and when we lived in each property; he asked me to confirm my employment and the dates of each job; and he asked about the dates and purposes for each time I've ever entered the US. He also covered those mandatory questions where the answer to all/almost all would be no. The only fairly personal question was about kids - we don't have them, and he wanted to ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was very easy- Maybe 10 minutes total (waiting room was very busy and crowded however). Official was pleasant and to-the-point. Reviewed the application we had submitted (the yes-no questions). Asked how we met and about how he proposed. Told him funny story about engagement and he laughed and said that he thought our relationship "made sense" and was "very cool". I showed him some financial documents which he was going to take copies of but then just decided to note that he saw them. Asked if we had any other photos. I showed him a pile of photos and wedding congrat cards. I pulled out professional wedding album and he paged through it and said "ok obviously this is a bonafide marriage and I will approve it". He said we will get green card in mail in 1-2 weeks. We then left and within hour saw that card was being produced online. Overall not bad experience at all.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview time was at 12:45. We arrived at 12:30 and got checked in quickly. The waiting room was crowded with a naturalization ceremony apparently taking place that afternoon and the calling of names/numbers seemed a little chaotic. We waited about 25 minutes and we were then back with the interviewer. Our interviewer was friendly although down to business. As the petitioner I was told by our attorney that I wouldn't be asked a lot of questions but out of the gate the question of how our relationship started was directed at me and then after I was getting asked other questions too. We both told our story and answered some more conversational type questions but nothing that was too unexpected. I was asked why I haven't added my husband to the deed to our house which was the most surprising question since I don't know many people that go through those extra steps when they get married. But knowing we will likely move seemed to be a satisfactory answer for her. She then went through ... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my marriage based- AOS interview on November 6. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I was super nervous beforehand, but our case manager was so friendly and professional. We only waited an extra 10-15 minutes and the interview took about 40 ish minutes. Throughout the interview we made some small talk and joked around a little bit so it was definitely a more casual environment then I had expected. The case manager said he had to look over the case before a complete approval, but that we were basically approved. A week later he updated the case status to “approved”!
