Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

The interview went well we thought. We had to use an interpreter. the interviewer went through all the questions she had answered on the form that asked all the questions about criminal activity and party affiliation. Then she asked me for a copy of my divorce decrees that had already been sent with the original application. I thought this unusual so I asked and she said that all of he paperwork for my original application had been lost. So when the form says bring copies of all your paperwork, you had better bring copies! She asked about our wedding and wanted all of our pictures. She also asked how relations were with my 12 year old boy. She then explained how the two year expiration worked on the green card to my wife making sure the interpreter got it right and that my wife understood. We were honest with all of our answers.
Then the interviewer asked my wife and the interpreter to leave and she explained that the way the green card expiration worked was to protect the Ameri... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview at at 11:00 in the morning - got there around 10:40 and our lawyer got there about 5-10 minutes later. We waited in the hallway (there are benches to sit on) because the official waiting room seemed stressful with so many anxious people. The immigration officer came out around 10:50 and brought us back - he was very young and polite, but not friendly (very professional). He looked through our application and verified some of the biographical info (name, DOB, SSN). He asked us where/how we met, what our wedding was like, and then moved on to pictures. He looked through our wedding album and seemed to especially focus on the pics of my wife with my family. He also had a collage photo of our honeymoon in Maui and maybe 5 other pics of our life before then (we had probably 1,000 before our lawyer went through and picked out just a few). He really seemed to like the picture of us in front of the Eiffel Tower and said something like "oh, you guys have done a lot of travelling t... read complete review

Easy interview. Had to wait about 40 minutes until the interviewer asked us to come back. We had PLENTY of evidence. Within 15 minutes of her asking about how we met, etc and asking basic questions, nothing tricky, she told us we were approved and said the green card would be ordered. She was very very nice!

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was at 1:30pm, but to make sure we got in on time, we arrived at 12:45pm. We brought a photo album, our file (copies and originals of everything we submitted for our AOS) along with a scrapbook that we had. Since we only had one asset that we had together (our bank account), we had to make sure that we brought things that could prove we were in a valid relationship.

We went through the back of the building where there were two very nice security guards. We emptied our pockets to make sure the detector didn\'t go off, and then asked where Room 106 was. The officers let us know to go and drop off our letter in Room 156, which was across the hall, so that we could check in. Then we headed to Room 106, which is a pretty spacious waiting room. There were about three other couples before us, which I\'m guessing was there for their 1:00pm interview. Since we were there early, we waited about an hour (so about 15 minutes after our actual appointment was scheduled)... read complete review

Review Topic: Lifting Conditions

This is for a review for my biometrics appointment to lift conditions.

This is a very nice office, people working there are very pleasant, they talked to all the kids who were there and gave them coloring books. If you can, get there a bit early for your appt, mine was at 8am, and I got there about 5 mins late (the location is a bit hard to find), so I needed to wait about 40 mins to get called. Not a big deal, but if you are early, you get queued faster.
