Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We waited almost two hours past our scheduled interview time but that was the only bad part of the day. Once we were called in, the agent got straight to the point and confirmed some of the information on the I-485 application. She asked if we had received the EAD and tracked it when we said it had not arrived.
She asked what additional evidence we had to provide her that day and we gave her some documents and a stack of pictures. She went through the pictures and would pull out some and ask us questions about the people in the pictures with us and the event or location where it was. Finally she told us we were approved. The entire thing took about fifteen minutes.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I adjusted status from a K-1 visa, interview was on July 18, 2017 at the Los Angeles County field office on 300 North Los Angeles Street.

We parked at the Aiso Street Garage on 101 N Judge John Aiso st, only $1/hour for the first 2 hours and $5 for 3 hours. It took us 2 minutes to walk to the USCIS building from there.

The appointment was scheduled at 10.30 and we arrived at the building at 9.30. Not a single person in line, we just walked straight in and walking through security only took 20 seconds. We then took the elevator to the sixth floor and room 6024, which was just around the corner when we walked out of the elevator. The guard directed us to window 1 and the lady at the window took our appointment letter, asked if we were bringing a lawyer or translator and then told us to sit down and wait. And we waited, and waited.. When we were finally called up by an immigration officer it was already 11:20, which was 50 minutes past our scheduled appointm... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our interview on September 11th of 2013. Yes, 2013. Just sharing my experience and it lasted 2 hours!!! We were separated after having 10 minute convo all together. Each of us was asked around 40 same questions such as "What color is bed cover in your bedroom?", "What did your wife drink for dinner last night?", "What color is a box in which your wife keeps her pills". The officer was very meticulous writing down answers. Before we started we took an oath and she was looking in my eyes like 5 seconds. Even though I was saying the truth it was hard to deal with. So our case was held for review for another 9 months. After that they sent us Request for Evidence. We sent them updated lease, our first joint tax return and few other minor documents, after which we were approved in September of 2014.
