Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Husband's AOS interview was scheduled for 9/20 at 2pm. We arrived at 1:15, and parked at a meter in front of the building. (Tip: the first meters on the right on P street before the USCIS front door will be limit 2 hours. They few just past the door before you reach the bakery are limit 4 hours. I didn't want to be worrying about the meter in the middle of our interview, so I made sure to get one of those). We waited until 1:30 before entering.

After going through security, we were sent up to the second floor where they took his biometrics. This is a big waiting area with the windows for Infopass appointments.

We were in the waiting room until about 2:15 before being called back to the IO's office. IO asked for our IDs (both of our passports), both birth certificates, and my CA driver's license. He also offered his EAD/AP combo card with his passport. After looking at all, she had us stand for the oath.

She then proceeded to have my husband... read complete review

Today was a big day for my wife and I. So we arrive at the office at 840am. We went up to the guard and show him our IDs and the appointment letter. He then direct us to take out our personal belongings before the security screening. After the screening the security guard direct us to the desk where a worker will check us in. After he print us a tag number, he told us to go up to the second floor and wait for them to call us. FYI if you bring a translator, they will required to fill out a form. the second floor layout has four interview windows, a receptionist table and a door on the left leading to the IO offices. we waited up there and it wasn’t until 915am when a mid 50 male IO calls out number. We went up to him and I greeted him with a hello and a firm handshake. He took us to his room and from there I see the folder containing all of our submitted paper including the k-1 and aos document. He sworn us in and ask us to take a seat. He first ask me to state my name which o di... read complete review

Appt. was at 12:30pm, got there at 12:20. Waited for about 15 mins. Got a very pleasant female officer. Took about 15 mins verifying paperwork and 10 mins going through our evidence and asking questions. She asked 3 questions at most (tell me about your relationship; where did you get married; who attended the wedding). At the end she said everything looked to be in order and she was certain that after security checks she could approve.

make sure to allow tons of extra time! we had a hard time finding parking anywhere near the building; so prepare to walk the length of the mall. The interview itself is what they all say. Ours lasted 1 hour after being called in 20 minutes late. And we were the 1st appt. of the day. We had a woman who was quite personable. We enjoyed our interview and had some laughs too. Be prepared and expect to be separated during part of the process. For us, our road has finally ended and we can't be happier. What a relief! javascript:emoticon('')
