Came 20 min earlier than we should, in a very good mood, waited for 30 min. Older gentleman, retired navy officer interviewed us for 5 min, how did we meet, and stuff from the paperwork. Nothing stressful, it is quite obvious if someone knows spouse or not! Good luck!

New building, plenty of visitor parking. The whole interview process was very painless. The only complaint I have is that, it's located in Detroit.

So I had my interview today in the morning. It was at 8:00AM but for some reason I thought it was at 8:30AM. Anyway I arrived around 7:55AM but they guy at the receptionist counter couldn’t find my name on his list. Sigh... eventually, he found my name on a list in a separate pile and he told me to wait so that he can find my interviewing officer. As we were waiting for him find my interviewing officer, I heard my name over the intercom. So I went to the door where I heard my name but my interview officer had left. She eventually came back and called us in.
She was really nice, she asked what happened the first time she called for us. I explained what happened and she just laughed and said its okay. She swore us in and asked us of our driver’s license and passports. I told her I don’t have one since Michigan wouldn't give me one because my I94 has expired. Then she said - shame on you. She then laughed and said - I am kidding, I understand.
She then asked the foll... read complete review

My husband and I went in for his adjustment of status interview on August 23, 2012. Our actual experience at USCIS was quick and easy- the worst part was having to drive ten hours from the Upper Peninsula for a 20 minute interview.
Our appointment was at 8 am and we arrived around 7:30 am. There was no waiting line at security at all, as there were only around a dozen other people there for interviews, and maybe another dozen for biometrics. The security/reception people were courteous, and the waiting area had tvs and was fairly comfortable.
People with infopass appointments took a number, but the people with interviews had their names called out. We waited around 15 minutes before my husband's name was called. I think we were her first interview of the day, and the interviewing officer immediately put us at ease-- she was professional, but she seemed very warm. She walked us back to a private office where we did the interview.
She simpl... read complete review

Interviewer only asked us questions about our application. They were "how did we meet," and "where was this photo taken." He also asked us all of the std questions on the i-485 form. We did learned from the officer that the LA imigration has not sent our information to the Michigan office yet. This did not cause any problems with our application, however I would recommend that everyone bring a copy of everything they submited during the K1 and AOS process. In this case we were lucky because he just needed a copy of the medical report.
