We got an interview scheduled for 11:15 although we got called in at 11:30. The immigration agent was around 30 years old male, he didn't look very friendly at first. We got into a very small office. He sworn us in , took a photo of me and fingerprints of my index fingers. He checked my passports, my husbands passport and my birth certificate. He pointed on my last entry stamp in my passport and asked if it's the latest one and if I've left the US since then. He checked if addresses of our ID's match and asked how many people live in our apartment, he made sure that all information on I-485 match our ID's. Then he proceeded and asked how have we met. My husband started telling him our story what made him smile a lot. He asked when have we met in person and the history of our meetings. Then he looked at the album that we printed out at Walgreens, the scrapbook that I've made for my husbands birthday and another gift (photo cards) that I've made for our anniversary. He really loved the l... read complete review

I had my AOS interview today at the Chicago office. The experience was great from the time we entered the office. The security guard on the 2nd floor had an awesome sense of humor. The interview itself was pretty straightforward. The officer was an older lady and she took our oath, checked IDs and actually ended up speaking to my wife more since she is a doctor. The only questions she asked me were how we met and the standard questions from the I-485. She took some photos and joint credit card statement. Then she proceeded to let us know about the 2 year removal of conditions process and that I'd be eligible for citizenship in 3 years. Overall a great experience. We didn't have an attorney with us since there were no concerns with our case, and that may have helped with keeping the discussion a little more informal.

Today I went to Chicago Field Office with my wife. The interviewing officer was a very nice lady. She first asked us to take oath and then asked for our Photo IDs. After that she asked how did you meet, we told the whole story. She asked for our marriage certificate and said that she doesnt have that on file (strange because I had sent the documents with the application already). I gave her that. She asked to see our passports. Then she asked if we have any photos, we showed her a whole album. She took a few photos from it, she was particularly interested in photos of me with my wife's family and my wife's with my family. The album contained our wedding ceremony photos and some other general photos we had together. After photos she asked for any bonafide documents we have relating to marriage. We gave her our joint tax filing documents which had our name together. I showed her a checkbook from our joint account, it had both of our names. she took a deposit slip from it and kept it. Our interview was very smooth. We walked in 25 minutes before our interview time. Checked in on the 2nd-floor window and then waited for our interviewer to call us. Our appointment time was 11:15 am. We were called around 11:20 am. The interviewer was a very nice lady. She made us take an oath, to tell the truth, and then started to review and verify our information on the application. Because of our case history(prior I-485 denied due to not receiving the interview letter and filing motion to reconsider which was also denied), she had a very thick file for our case. She basically asked the basic Yes No questions to my husband, asked him his parents name and when did he enter the USA. She asked if we had any more evidence to share so we gave her more pictures, bank statements, recent taxes and insurance cards. She kept it in the file. She looked through the pictures but didn't ask who was in the pictures etc. Anyhow, in the end, she said I am approving your case. Since we have been mar... read complete review
