Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my AOS interview on 10/07/2020 at 12:30 pm in Buffalo.
My husband and I went inside the building 15 min before the actual interview. We went through the security check and then to the desk where we had to check-in. The lady at the desk took my picture and fingerprints and then we had to sit down in the waiting area. There were 4-5 other people before us, so we had to wait a while. Probably around 45-60 min.

Then an officer called us and we followed him to an office in the back. We had to take an oath to tell the truth and then we sat down and he went through our application.
He focused on the I-485 and the I-944. He didn't have any of our evidence and supporting documents lying in front of him, only the forms. He asked EVERY question on both forms and checked them if it matched or added something when he wanted more details.
When it came to the assets on form I-944, he asked my husband where around $23,000 in the category "other" came from. My husband couldn't remember and the officer became irritated, so I started looking through our documents (I brought EVERYTHING we ever handed in or collected throughout the whole process), but the officer told me in an angry tone that I should stop looking and better be focusing on the interview because if I answer anything wrong it will be in my file permanently.
Well, the officer skipped the question and started asking my husband about his income. Since there is a huge difference for this and last year, it came up that my husband got laid off this year. The officer didn't seem amused and took notes, so I just interrupted him (maybe not a good idea, but I didn't care at that moment) and told him that I got a job offer and could start next week. I gave him written proof of that offer and he seemed pleased and started asking questions about the job and didn't care about my husband's stuff at all anymore.
When he was done with the forms, he simply asked, if we brought anything to prove our bonafide marriage. Since I thought, he wants to see a lot, I started with the weakest proof. Just bank statements of the same credit card we use. Then he said, "ok, I'm gonna approve you today" and explained the procedure of the approval notice and when the greencard will get send. I let him finish and then told him, that I brought way more evidence and that I copied everything for him and if he wants to have that, too. That was the first time he smiled and talked in a more friendly tone. He wanted everything, but didn't even look at it. He just put it in my file.
He explained that my EAD will be invalid now because my greencard got approved. I told him, I need something as proof that I'm allowed to work because I told my future employer they could copy my EAD the day next day. So he told me, he can put the I-551 stamp in my passport, which serves as a greencard until I receive the card. So we had to go in the waiting area again, while he put the stamp in my passport. Around 10 min later he brought my passport back and told me, we were good to go.

Overall, the experience in Buffalo wasn't too bad. But still stressful.
