We couldn't have hoped for a better experience for my husband's interview. I flew to Casa and waited anxiously in the cafe across the street. He was asked a number of the usual questions about our relationship/marriage. He wasn't asked to produce any of the evidence I'd laden him with - not a single photo, after all the work I'd put into putting together our album! I had sent a large number of photos, emails, and some sworn affidavits from friends and family with my I-130 application - not sure if they had already seen those and were satisfied. He was approved at the end of the interview and told to pick up his passport the next day. We returned to NY the day after that. It was unbelievably joyful.

My advice to anyone about to file is to front-load your I-130 with as much evidence as possible as I'm pretty sure that helped us get virtually approved by the time our file reached the consulate. Before the interview, be sure to email the consulate for their list of lo... read complete review

When my fiance' first got to the Consulate, a lady called his name and asked for the visa fee and his forms. Then the lady told him that he can sit until his name is called again. Then another man, Moroccan, called his name and he asked for his certificates (birth, police, court and single hood) and his passport and then said he can sit until they call his name again. He did have his fingerprints taken but I am not sure at what stage. Then an American man called his name last and this was who interviewed him. The man was very nice and friendly. He signed his forms during the interview. The actual interview lasted about 20-25 minutes. He asked to see our chats, emails & pictures and asked the following questions.

1. When my fiance' learned English, where/how he learned it, who taught him and what was that man's name and if he learned English before or after we met.
2. My full name, first, middle & last.
3. My birthday.
4. When we met and... read complete review

Hi
My wife and daughter, had their interviews on June 11 2009, the consular officer who did the interview was very professional, and said all the papers were ok and fine. He, However, needed to check that she didn't overstay her previous F1 visa. It took the consulate about 2 weeks to check her file (I guess with DHS), she was given the 221 but not put in Administrative Processing.. they kept her passport..as well as our daughter's passport( she is 18 months)
Today they issued their visas. Overall the american staff of the consulate is OK, the only bad experience my wife had is with Mr Samir the translator/Janitor (moroccan) at the door , who seems to be "bringing" his "mou9ata3a experience
with him to his new job. His attitude is unbecoming of a us consulate staff member.

Being both orgininally from Morocco helps, no tough questions
about how/when and why we are married.

Being organized helps too, try to put every kind of p... read complete review

My husband went to the window and the consular officer simply returned our photos and original documents, told my husband that we needed a co-sponsor and to come back with that whenever he had it. We tried one, and that co-sponsor didn't make enough either apparently.... (THIS PART WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!)
......but the following week we tried another co-sponsor and they accepted it in 4 days then several days later the VISA for my honey was in his hands!
