The lady that interviewed us was lovely. It took less than five minutes once we finally got to the actual interview (we waiting for about 2.5 hours after getting to the consulate). She asked Tuyen a few questions and that was it! I was a little surprised because I'd heard so many stories of difficult interviews, but ours was great.

It was very easy for my fiance. the IO only asked her 5 questions. The waiting time was long for her. it was about 4 hrs. she did not have any trouble with our paperwork.

My wife recently went for a CR-1 visa interview at the Ho Chi Minh City consulate in Vietnam. The overall process took about two hours (the vast majority of it waiting.) Once she was allowed into the consulate they took her fingerprints and then later asked for her documentation. They seemed adamant about not taking the picture from the reception we had in Vietnam with all of her family but instead wanted pictures with me (the USC) and my family here in America.
As far as the actual interview was they asked very few questions. She was asked how we met (worked together) and where we worked (University food court) and then was asked my name. After the interview was over she was told to pay to get the visa sent via courier and that it would get to her when it was ready.
Overall she said it was a pleasant experience and all the personnel were nice to her.
Thanks for reading!
