Arrived at the embassy around 9:05 – 9:10am and there’s a queue outside and just wait it out with Passport & DS-160 confirmation printout in hand.
Upon entering it is airport style security belt, watch, pockets empty…blah blah, we’re all familiar with that here I’m sure.
Walk through into a large open foyer and there were 2 queues but we were just advised to jump in any of them until you’re at the desk and a lady will let you know which level you should go, first floor turn left and follow it round until you’re in a waiting room with like bank booths with privacy dividers there.
First Window:
You’ll have had a number allocated on your paperwork and when this is called up on a screen, go to the booth showing your number and they’ll ask questions regarding documents, I took with me and handed over:
DS-160 & Passport,
Birth Certificate,

Fast and easy. Everyone was very friendly. Very streamlined process. I had my medical exactly 7 days before so I was nervous the results might not be there but they were, phew! The first window the man was friendly, took my papers and then I took a seat. The second window was the questioning. This man was definitely a little more stern and professional. I had the same questions as everyone else - How did you meet and what does your partner do for a living etc.
I will say though that they definitely DO read your file. He picked up on something he thought was a date discrepancy which I easily explained and he understood so I was fine and approved on the spot (yay) but I was impressed that he queried something so small which proved he had already reviewed my file. Again, if you are a legitimate couple and you're just open and honest you will be 100% OK!
I was in and out in a total of 30 mins.

Appointment was scheduled for 11:30, I began the process at 11:10, I gave the lady at the visa entry point my passport and ds160 and was sent through to security. Went through into the main building and gave my documents to get my ticket number and sent upstairs to the immigrant waiting room.
As I arrived in the waiting room and it was pretty empty. I was seen by the first gentleman within 5 minutes and he requested paperwork and fingerprints. The paperwork he asked for was my passport, ds160 confirmation, a visa style photograph, birth certificate, police certificate and the affidavit of support with evidence. He was very friendly and helped calmed my nerves. I then was sent to sit back down and wait to be called for my interview.
I was sat down for maybe 10 minutes at most when I was called for my interview, during that time I’d been sitting through about 4 people being approved, which was really lovely. The interview was very formal and just what I had anticip... read complete review

The interview was so fast I barely had time to realize what just happened. I was asked a few questions. And then was told I was approved. The lady who interviewed me was nice.

Fairly easy on wet and windy day. Once inside, reception was very helpful. In and out quickly.
