*LONG DETAILED REVIEW BELOW*

So, my appointment was at 9:30am, I arrived at the embassy at around 08:15am where I saw two lines, the line on the left was much bigger than the other but was moving a lot faster The line on the left leads to two people at an outside desk for checking DS-160 and the line on the right lead you straight to security.

There were four line attendants who worked for the embassy and were directing people. I told a lady my appointment was at 09:30, she told me to get in the line on the left to check in even if I am early. So i joined in.

The line moved quite fast and i was probably at the front at around 08:25. I handed my DS-160 and passport to the lady and she signed it and told me to join the line on the right at 08:45. I sat down on the benches close by and went over my docs again, I grew anxious as i saw both lines getting much much longer, so I decided to join at 08:35, I got to the front and the security officer asked me to open my phone and then open an app, they wont let you in with laptops or tablets and tell you to store it at a nearby cafe, I went in and through security very quickly.

I then walked up to the heavy doors to enter the consulate, where there were two more lines marked as US visa appointments and citizens,
I got in the line for visa appointments which moved slowly but i got to the front by 09:00am where I again handed my DS-160 and passport , I was a little nervous that they will ask me to come back later because i had a 09:30 appointment but the lady at the front who was super nice said I can proceed and gave me a ticket with a number on it, told me to take the elevator to floor 1 and turn left then left again.

Got too floor 1 and it was pretty busy, ignored the rush and turned left and then left at the end to a much quieter waiting area opposite 10 booths, i waited to see my number on a screen, my number was shown before i could take a seat so i approached the booth to a friendly officer, and was asked for:

Passport / DS160
1x Passport photo
ACRO police certificate
Birth certificate
1-134 form with tax of previous year or Employment verification letter ( Consulate workers words)

He then asked me for my fingerprints and handed me back some of my documents (Birth certificate and ACRO police certificate) then told me to take a seat and wait for my number to show on screen.

I waited around 10 minutes or so and my number appeared i went to the booth and was approached by a very friendly officer called 'chris' who was very upbeat and put me at ease as everyone is naturally a bit anxious before big interviews.

He asked for fingerprints again, and then asked me a total of four questions:
How did you meet?
What does your Fiance do for work?
When did you last see eachother?
Have they ever visited the UK?

I answered all the questions and he said 'looks like you're all set and i will be approving you today' and then told me 'You will receive your passport back and visa in 1 or 2 weeks'.

I thanked him a lot and went back to the exit, They have bathroom facilities, water fountains, and also a small shop which serves refreshments on the first floor. I just went down and exited where i saw a huge line stretching through the doors for visa appointments, which made me feel relieved I went early.

The time to my surprise was 09:35am by the time i exited the consulate ! , which meant my interview was done much earlier and quicker than i expected.

So i do recommend you checking in as soon as you get there and going through security, rather than waiting and risking being late or being part of the long line that forms after security.

Interview is only 10-15 mins max, the whole process took me 35 mins from being handed my ticket from the lady at the consulate reception.

All in all great experience ! !

Good luck to anyone who took there time to read this and I wish you all the best !

I was in and out within about two hours. Navigating the building wasn't as hard as it's made out online and then both people were wonderful and I was told I was approved there and then after a small handful of questions.

Interview was 19th July and I was refused because the embassy didn't have my medical report yet. I contacted the place I had my medical and they said the medical had been signed off on 18th July, and should be with the embassy today (19th July). After the interview, the case status changed to refused, then the next day (20th July), the status changed to approved.

Super easy and straightforward! There is a long line when you arrive (as others have mentioned), get in the line on the left side to see someone to check your DS-160. They will mark you as a K-1 Visa and you'll head straight through to the security check. Don't be intimidated by the crowded waiting room, as that is for visas and not immigration. When you get to the immigration waiting room it will be like 4 people. They'll take your paperwork and then the longest bit is just waiting your turn for the interview! My fiancé was only asked one question, "How did you meet?" and then was approved on site! They said his passport would be mailed within 1-2 weeks and have a safe flight. We got an email with a tracking number for his passport 2 days later and it should be here tomorrow (so 5 business days total).
