Honestly, it depends on a case-case basis. You can risk not going with the letter like I did and I'm sure others before I have and you could be lucky. I think it depends on your individual situation. If you've had frequent recent mental health issues, you would need it vs Myself, not having issues since 10 years ago and I was fine; but I think it depends on the doctor in question too.

Hey It was great meeting you that day! I just wanted to post something similar about how I was going in with the worry of this being some kind of horror day when in fact everyone was wonderful, sweet and kind and full of questions both making conversation to ease the tension and for the purpose of the visa. I had been worried about my mental health history being a red flag with all of the horror stories online and I didn't even have documentation but after talking about it was told it would not affect my case. So yeah hoping going forward that anyone who attends sees that this experience is just fine! Although I still have the bruise from having blood taken 😂

So we got an email from NVC saying that it's been sent to the consulate. Who does the consulate contact? Email/letter? I believe they have a previous address on file so I'm hoping email. Also will the consulate give me my invoice number for DS160 or do I need to do public inquiry through NVC?

I visited on ESTA countless times since 2021. November 2021, Jan 2022, May 2022, June/July 2022, August 2022, November 2022, February 2023. November 21 and Jan 22 were pre-K1 application. May and June were after submitting i129f. Aug 22-Feb 23 were all 2-3 month trips. All of the prior trips were a week or two. All week or two trips were no trouble going through and visiting. November 2022, the officer didn't ask me a single question. He just took my passport and took my picture. He seemed to be doing that to everyone. Not one question, not one word. Feb 2023, I was threatened with being sent home by the officer and then got sent to secondary and the guy who let me in was a sweetheart. Just be aware when going through on a long visit. You'll get a lecture most of the time but there's a good chance you'll get in. Be prepared for a secondary or being sent home.

I got the "we have it but it's not in the system yet" email yesterday. NOA2 was April 18th The email from NVCResearch was yesterday. 60ish days.
