Interview was easier than i expected. Arrived at the embassy at 9.40am for my 10.30am appointment, waited in line with everyone else, 9.55am my appointment letter and passport checked and told to go to security, put my bag etc thru the x-ray machine and walked thru the scanner, guard asked if i had a bottle of perfume in my bag, which i didnt, so he opened up my bag to find my inhaler and cell phone, he then put my bag thru the x-ray machine again and same things showed up, he says ok, thats fine. Walked around to the other side of the embassy and was asked for my appointment letter, alls good, walked up the stairs where a nice young lady asked for my letter and gave me my immigrant visa ticket number 13 lol, sat down and waited for my number to be shouted, 45 mins later my number was called, handed over my passport, pics and fee receipt, lady scanned my passport pics then glued them to my Ds-156's, she then stamped the date on my forms and asked me to sign them, ... read complete review

Hi
It's really reassuring to see the reviews of the interview process. It's been making me feel much less nervous about the whole thing! I wonder if you have any advice about what sort of clothing seems appropriate for the interview? Mine is next Wednesday and I have no idea what to wear. Did the men waiting to be interviewed seem particularly dressed up, or was it all quite casual?
Time seems to be dragging in the final run up to the actual interview...
Filled with nervous energy

Alright, so my appointment was at 9:30 am. I stayed in London with my cousin so I get there with ease in the morning. My cousin and I left his house at 8:30 and walked to the embassy. However, as is always the way when walking around london with my cousin, we got lost. So we ended up arriving at the embassy at 9:10 after some very brisk walking. There was an immigration man there and 2 lines. I went up to him and he asked me what time my appointment was and then told me to join the left line, which was shorter. So I did, time past and the right line got shorter and shorter and the line I was in got longer and longer. Then at around 9:40 I heard the people around me talking about how they were glad that they had got there early for their 10/10:30 appointments. By this time an immigration lady was walking up and down the line so I asked her where those who had 9:30 appointments were supposed to go....and she pointed to the right hand line, which was now only a couple of people. so f... read complete review

Well I travelled up the following day to London and stayed at the Travelodge Wembley (booked for £26), next day walked the 1/2 mile to the tube station and took the 20 min journey to Bond street, went to the picture place and then walked the 5 mins to the embassy.
I got there at 9:15 (my interview time was 10), and was let in at 9:40. Walked round and got my number and sat down. After just under 1hr I was called up and asked for all my documention. I had forgot to photocopy my birth cert and my police cert, but the guy moaned at me and then photocopied them for me. He then gave me my x-ray and took my fingerprints, all this took around 20 mins and I then sat down for around 1 hr.
I was then called again and was met by another guy he asked for pics of my son (that I had with my fiancee). He looked at them and then asked about her mum and dad and our Co-Sponser, what my fiance does in america and he then said barring anything getting flagged on the fingerpr... read complete review

I'm afraid that my review will be based on Sian's comments, as I wasn't at the interview.
Sian said that she was helped quite quickly, and that everything went very smoothly. Her interviewer was friendly, for the most part, and asked the typical questions: How did you meet? Have you met his family? When have you visited him? What is your profession? Do you think you will be able to find work there? How will you like living in Indiana do you think? Etc.
Sian says she spent no more than one hour and 45 minutes at the embassy.
