Review Topic: K1 Visa

Apart from a long nervous wait, everything went fine. They didn't ask to look at any of our supporting evidence that we'd previously send in. They accepted letters from employers and pay stubs as evidence for the affidavit of support, and were generally patient with my nervous fumblings for this or that in my folder.

I had forgotten to bring photocopies of documents, but they were fine with that - they said they'd charge me but never did. And the visa arrived 4 days later. The only glitch in the whole process was that they were supposed to warn me by text message when the visa would come. In the end the courier just arrived on my doorstep.

Review Topic: K3 Visa

What a strange experience. It went really well though.

My appointment was for 10am at Grosvenor Square, I had travelled down the previous day so had a trial run to see where everything was. There was a huge fence running all the way around the embassy and guards at the gate and policemen in their bulletproof gear with massive guns, then some officially looking "Men in Black" types with their walkie talkies, it was very intimidating.

So the next morning I was told not to be there more than 30 minutes in advance, and presuming everyone else was told the same, I though I would take my chances with getting there 35 minutes in advance. I followed the signs for Visas, and then saw it, 2 huge queues already built up. So I went to the lady with the bright yellow jacket on and asked her which one I should join. She asked what visa I was coming for and I told her K3. She looked at me very confused and asked to see my letter. She then looked even more confused... read complete review

A very smooth experience, a lot less scary and taxing than I expected it to be.

I arrived about 09:20 ready for the 10:00 appointment specified in the letter I was sent from the embassy. I think this was about the right amount of time in advance to arrive. There was a woman outside the embassy in a fluorescent jacket organizing people into queues, and she put everyone whose appointment was within 10 to 15 time in one queue, and everyone else (the people who were super early) into another queue (which didn't move). As peoples' appointments got close, they were moved into the queue which actually moved. Though very slowly.

I eventually got into the embassy at 10:20, after waiting for an hour outside in the cold. I took the ticket from the guy who was managing the machine, and sat down to wait for the number on my ticket to be called. About 5 minutes later I was called to window 13 (!) where a guy who was new to the job gradually took all of my documents and ... read complete review

We Got Approved!!!!!! hubby said it was dead easy. his appointment was at 9:30. he went early and he went straight through..he was the very first person they took this morning. first had to hand over documents. they only asked for HIS birth cert.,divorce decree(wasnt even the original) his passport, our marriage cert. and affidavit of support from me and my co-sponser. they didnt even ask for any bank statements, or tax records or letters from employer or pay stubs...NO PROOF OF INCOME!!!!!from either of us. they asked for nothing of mine whatsoever. they asked him 3 questions only...1. when and where did you meet your wife? 2. why did you get married so quickly after your divorce? 3. asked about an incident on his police report at the age of 15 and the man told him his visa was approved and he got the WELCOME TO AMERICA statement..(which he was well pleased with)
said his visa will be her... read complete review
