Review Topic: K1 Visa

James' appt. was for 9am. He arrived at 7:45am and there were plenty of people standing outside the embassy already in line so he decided he would skip grabbing a coffee! Embassy opened at 8 or so and the lines were split into appt. times. After making it through security and working his way to the appropriate area, he walked up to a window and let an official look over the paperwork he had brought (petition packet, I-134 etc, police cert etc) and was then told to have a seat b/c it might be a while until the interview. He didn't have to wait very long...(not sure how long he waited to get to this point b/c he could not find any clocks in the building! Perhaps so you don't know how far behind they are? hah) He was called up to another window with an immigration official on the other side and this is where he stood for the 5-10 minutes the interview took! We assumed that James would be pulled into a little room to sit and have a chat! James said there were quite a few 'windows' in the room. The official was pleasant and laid back yet extremely professional. He did not ask any crazy questions. Examples would be: "Who are you marrying?" "What does your fiance do for work?" He read over the letter from my employer and then shortly approved James. He said that the visa would be delivered to his home via courier in exactly 2 days before noon! Overall, it was mostly a lot of waiting...but not that bad of an experience! Especially considering we were approved! If you have any more questions regarding interviews at the London embassy, feel free to contact us and James can give more details!
