As I walked from Dr Phelan's Office alone, I couldn't help but think of all the bad thing's that could happen at the interview, such as an ommited piece of important paper or missing passport or things that could hold me up and keep me away from Sandy. The walk was only 10 minutes from Great Cumberland Place to the embassy. The morning sun was creeping up above the rooftops making it feel like a 'Good Day' to be alive.
I arrived at the heavily guarded security fence that was now in place around the embassy after the September 11th problem and was met by a security officer who asked to see my interview letter and passport and asked me the purpose of my visit. He told me where the entrance was and off I went. Upon entering the building my bag was put through the x-ray machine to check for weapons and I walked through a machine to check for weapons on myself. Had to sign in and was told to go up the stairs and turn left for the visa department.
The main room at the embassy w... read complete review

31st Jan. I arrived at 9.20am for my interview at 10.30am. I had planned to go for a coffe once I knew the location of the embassy, however a woman with a clip board told me it was not busy so it would be ok for me to go in. I showed my passport and appt letter to another guy and then proceeded to go into the embassy, but first there are security checks. I handed over my mobile phone and sadly had to throw away a new bottle of expensive perfume I had bought the week before, interestly I was able to take the perfume in my hand luggage.
Once inside the embassy I was handed a ticket with a number on it, the ticket also told me I was an immigrant. I sat down in a room that reminded me of a huge bank and waited for about 30 minutes before my number was called. I went to the booth and handed over my required documents. My fiance had already sent in I-134 which they had received. I had fingers prints taken paid $100 and then was told to sit down again and wait for my number to be calle... read complete review

Well yesterday was the day I've been waiting for for over 3 years. I finally had my interview at the London Embassy.
I stayed overnight in London but was way too stressed to sleep so spent the night reading in my hotel room. I read through every document I had in my folder at least 5 times.
Walking from the hotel to the Embassy was easy thanks to britty who posted directions in the UK forum.
My interview was for 9.30 and I got there about 8.45 and apart from confusion when the lady with the clipboard asked to see my 156 had no problem. I was inside the Embassy with my number in hand by 8.55.
It wasn't long before I was called to the window to sign a couple of forms, hand over my adoption certificate and my photographs. The man I spoke to had to go away and ask what to do as I hadn't given my name before I was adopted, and have no record of my place of birth other than the name of the country. He came back to say this is fine for now but may pose a problem wh... read complete review

Interview was scheduled for 10am. Arrived at 9.30 and had to wait for about 75 minutes outside - not a problem, but a bit cold.
Inside, waited for maybe 15 mins, then called to go through document check and pay processing charge. No problems, very perfunctory.
Waited for maybe 15 mins, then called to interview. A few questions about factual detail of our relationship (where did you meet?, etc), a few questions about our engagement (did she cry?, etc). No problems, was then told the visa was approved.
All very painless.
