I got to Bond Street tube at 7.30am and found my way to Gould Pharmacy where I stored my mobile. The guy didn't seem to believe me when I told him that I didn't have any other electronics on me.
I then walked down to the embassy and joined the queue. It wasn't very long, and they had a desk at the start of the line where they were checking that people had MRV fee receipts and interview letters. There was also a chap at the other end of the queue doing the same thing, but he also wanted to see passports. Once I was past him I was called into the security lodge as part of a group of four. It was pretty straightforward, a bit like security at an airport. I had to put all metal objects including my belt and wallet into a plastic baggie and then I went through a metal detector.

This review is on behalf of my fiance's experience as an Australian living in London.
We got great advice from a fellow VJ member going through the same process in London (thank you thank you). We never got a physical 'packet 3' letter so we just followed the instructions on this link http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html as suggested, Michael got his medical and then sent everything in without waiting for the letter. After noticing another couple sent in their packet 3 just days before we did and seeing that they had an appointment date, I inquired. I was informed that for London appointments we MUST call the embassy in advance to pay for the visa. This was the first time I had heard of that and in all my obsessive reading on these forums, I never once saw that. Leaving Bristol at 3am to make suren I was in London on time was horrid but sailed into London Victoria station at 6.20am. My appointment was at 9.30am but needed to find the embassy and drop off electricals at Goulds Pharmacy down the road. Plus, I had heard, if u get there early, you could be seen early!
Found the embassy, and the pahrmacy didnt open until 7.30am so went next dorr to have a cup of coffee. Dropped my stuff off at the paharmacy at 7.20 - run very well- and very stress free. Then made my way down to the embassy - as soon as you get outside u will see where you need to queue. I was at the embassy for 7.25am and there were about 25 people in front of me and the line behind me grew bigger by the minute - if I have one tip - it is to get there as early as you can!!!

I have to admit, ever since I joined this forum, I have been looking forward to the day when I can write one of these! :-)
Some of you will have noticed that we had a bit of a shorter lead time, due to the fact that we expedited the USCIS portion on medical grounds. We also figured we may as well see if we could do the same for the interview too...so we emailed them stating that the USCIS part had been expedited and provided all the documentation and asked if they would consider doing the same for the interview. To our surprise, they did! So on Tuesday morning we received a response from the Embassy informing us that the interview was in 4 days time! This was swiftly followed by me working myself into a panic on Tuesday night as I stressed about whether or not we had all the evidence for the I-134. More on this shortly...

i took the train down the night before - good job as all the trains were running late, the timetables were all over the place! I was coming from Devon, so wanted to give myself plenty of time.
My appointment was at 9am, I was staying at The Cumberland (got a great deal on lastminute.com) which is right next to marble arch - literally. So i was only 5-10 mins walk away from the Embassy.
I checked out of the hotel at 07:45am and walked to Goulds pharmacy to drop off my bag/electricals - they will store everythingfor you there for £3, so i gave them my overnight bag as well as my electricals - so payed £6. This meant i just had to take my paperwork with me and my wallet. I already had my American passport pictures that i had got from them the night before - £10 for 6.
