Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancé arrived at the Embassy around 7:00 a.m., for an 8:00 a.m. interview. He was one of the first individuals there.

Upon his arrival, one of the women working at the embassy told him he needed four forms – interview letter (which we didn’t have), passport and letter confirming the fee had been paid and DS-160. He explained how he never got his interview letter, but that the Department of State had confirmed his interview time. At first, the woman couldn’t find his name on the list, but then realized he was applying for a K1 visa. Apparently those appointments are kept on a different page. The woman said to disregard everything she had said (which is a good thing, because the DS-160 thing really put him off, and told him to go stand in line.

Upon arrival into Security, our packet of papers kept setting off the metal detector. One of the cards that I had originally sent him talked… so he had to give that card up! The security folks were very... read complete review

Finally home after a long but very exciting and successful day, my CR-1 approved!
Arrived at Bond street tube at around 7:10am, thought I would get there earlier although interview wasn't scheduled until 8:30am. Having a look around the square to see where the embassy was, how could I have missed it, very scary looking setup with armed police and security huts, saw Gould's chemist to the right and went and dropped off my phone for £3.00 I also asked for two more photos as I was a little worried that I might need them (I didn't) but for £4.00 better safe than sorry.
Arrived at the embassy at 7:30am they were already letting people in, so the line moved quite quickly, showed my interview letter and my old passport and new passport with married name, well this just confused the hell out of the guy checking my letter as it stated my maiden name not married name. Finally after 20 mins it was agreed that it was me and I could go back in the line. Went through security no prob... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Hey everyone, here's my experience of the London Embassy from this past Thurs, the 17th of March...
After receiving my interview letter on Mon the 14th, informing me that my interview was in 3 days time, I had a minor panic attack, then calmed myself down and made all the necessary arrangements.
I got the Megabus from Glasgow to London on Wednesday (lovely experience, in case you're wondering!) and stayed with a friend in South-East London.
After a night of waking up pretty much every half hr, I left my friend's place at 7:30am and headed into town (my appointment was for 10:00). I got out of Bond Street tube at about 8:10 and made my way to the embassy. Sat in Starbucks for about 15 mins with a cup of tea, then dropped off my phone at Gould's Pharmacy which is a few doors down. (£3 to store your electronics in a sealed bag)
I joined the queue at 8:45. I'd been to the embassy a couple of times before for work visas and this was the smallest queue I'd seen t... read complete review
