The #1 most important thing you need to take away from this review is: Do yourself a HUGE favor, and every form and certificate you're asked to submit at any point during the application process, however many copies you THINK you need, get another one. If we had done this, it would have saved a lot of expense and stress.
You need to have with you at your interview:
1. Your police certificate. If you didn't order an extra one when you first filed it in Packet 3, you'd better hope they gave you enough notice to order another one. We had so little notice of this that we had to pay extra to have the application overnighted and the certificate sent back in 2 days.
2. Your passport (and it MUST be in good condition)
3. Your LONG-FORM birth certificate (they will not accept the short form)
4. The Affidavit of Support from your American fiancé(e)and any supporting documents that go with it. Even though the embassy website specifically says that K-1... read complete review

My appointment was at 8:30am on June 6th, 2011
First I must reiterate what many have already said. Make sure they have all the information they need before the interview and you don't get asked many questions. The interview was incredibly easy and my interview consisted of two questions.
I walked down to the embassy from Bond Street station and past Gould's Pharmacy, there was a steady stream of customers going in and out and all seemed to be heading to or from Grovsenor Square. After reading the previous reviews on here I took as little as possible, just my wallet, some money and all my paperwork, take nothing electrical and if you can help it don't even wear a belt as you will have to take it off and put it on again.
I arrived at the embassy at around 7:50am, there was already quite a queue gathering so I joined and waited my turn. It felt like I was waiting a long time outside but I think that was because it was raining. After showing my ... read complete review

So today was the day of my interview, I'd heard that you can't get in if you turn up more than 30 minutes before your time, and if you arrive after your time they won't let you in. So I planned to get there half an hour early. It's a short walk from Bond Street tube.
I'd expected the embassy to be very brash and in your face with a great many flags flying. But although the building is huge and surrounded by a great many armed policeman with sub-machine guns I entirely missed it.
I soon realised the error of my ways and joined the line. I didn't go to the pharmacy as I'd left all my electrical items at home. Just had my wallet, some change for the phone, my house keys and my watch.
They checked my appointment letter and then made sure the name on it matched my passport and soon I was going through security with all my belongings in a clear plastic bag.. including my watch. But at least unlike the airport I didn't have to take off my shoes.
You walk aro... read complete review

I want to start off by saying that the interview was the easiest thing in the world and I stressed and worried for nothing. That said, I'll tell you my interview story.
My interview appointment wasn't until 9:30, but I had a restless night and got up at 4 am and was in London by 6:20am. I took the tube from Waterloo to Bond street where I mapped my way to Gould's pharmacy. I arrived there about 7:00am. (They don't open until 7:30) So I went to Starbucks, which is about 30 seconds walk away. After a very hot and nice vanilla soy latte I headed back to Gould's to hand in my phone. It was 3 pounds but very secure and reliable system, so totally worth it. I joined the already growing queue outside the embassy and started chatting to a chap who was next to me to make the time go quicker. Around 20 minutes later, I was called to a security man who checked my appointment letter and passport and then was asked to go to the x-ray room and have my bags, etc x-rayed. Then I walke... read complete review

I will start by saying that anyone who has an inpending interview should fear not. It was so so easy and left me wondering why i was so nervous beforehand. So trust me just relax it really is a breeze. I arrived at the U.S Embassy at about 7am. My appointment wasn't until 8:30am so i went for a quick starbucks which was just a stones throw away from the embassy. I then dropped off my personal items at the Goulds pharmacy and then proceeded to the embassy and entered the que around 7:45. On enetering the building i was given a number which was I907 and told to take a seat and to wait for my number to be called.I was sat around for about 15 minutes before my number was called, and was told to go to window 14. When i got there the lady at the desk took my fingerprints and asked me for my birth certificate and police certificate which i gave to her along with copies so i could get my originals back. She then asked for my affidavit of support form from my fiancee. I gave her the form along ... read complete review
