Fairly straightforward process in light of the enormous wealth of paperwork you read is required and mental preparation which goes hand in hand with this. Had an early appointment which was helpful and in total I recall it only took two hours from queuing up to leaving. Really and truly, the only items they asked for were the standard things (birth certificate, passport, passport pictures, affidavit of support etc). Having come armed with a whole host of supplementary items (phone bills, pictures, ticket stubs etc) none of these were requested.
I did however have one slight problem to overcome. To all those Brits who may come across my review, do read the information about birth certificates. I only had a copy of the short form, this had sufficed throughout the previous paperwork (no RFE), but upon brandishing this at interview stage I was made to seek a long version of my birth certificate (very simple process I learnt thereafter, just get in touch with your nearest re... read complete review

got to the embassy at about half 7. Sat outside for a bit and the queue was getting bigger and bigger...
I went to goulds and having traveled from scotland I had a ton of stuff on me and the guy didn't look amused... laptop, cameras, chargers, ipod, phone, memory stick.
Anyway, went back to the embassy and got in line. An embassy worker was calling to everyone that they had to have their appointment letter, receipt and a ds160. Obviously that is not on the k1 list for interview but she kept saying it and I freaked out. Everyone around me had one, so I went back to goulds to do one, and one of their staff told me not to do it and sent me back. Got back in the line which had further grown. Was served at the little counter they set up, and the officer was nice and friendly.
Went through security and got my stickers. I was too nervous to read, and I didn't have a watch. I am not sure how long I waited for. I was called up to my first window, t... read complete review

A very brief review of my K1 experience
Up at 4:00am for my train from Ipswich to London
Got a Embassy for 7:10am front of line
Went to Pharmacy, £3 to hold stuff for me
Went through three security checks and was given a ticket number (07:45)
Called up, gave over Documents needed (didn't even take a photo?!)
Sat back down
Called up again (08:20) this time fo the interview, 1st time was for paperwork etc etc
Had to swear on oathe, answered:
1. How did we meet
2. How did I propose
3. What do I plan to do when I get out there.......Accepted(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Had SO MUCH proof of ongoing to show them, kinda bummed they didn't ask for ANYTHING
Was out by 09:00, everyone was so SO nice and am now waiting for my Passport back so I can begin my life!!
Biggest piece of advice, DO NOT PANIC, I did and now I feel like a muppet as people always tell you not to worry but you always do, so read thi... read complete review

The following is translated to/from English English and American English (lol)
My interview for a K-1 Visa was at 9:00 am, and arrived at Gould’s Pharmacy around 8:00 am. Immigrant photos were £7.50 for 4, only 2 are needed for the process at the Embassy. You can get them at a photo booth inside the Embassy, but to me, it was not worth taking a chance that the booth would not be working, so I got them ahead of time. I recommend wearing something darkly colored, as I had to put my coat on as the background was white and my shirt was light. I paid £3.00 to store my I-Pod and phone in a sealed envelope, but found out I could take my rucksack (backpack) into the Embassy.
When I queued up (lined up), because I had an interview date and time I was directed on to the security guard, he checked my letter and passport. Then I was directed to a short queue outside the security booth. The security guard called people to be admitted into the Embassy four ... read complete review

Got in line about 7:30 am interview was scheduled at 8:00 am. Got my number sat for about 15 minutes then got called. The lady checked my paperwork and then said to sit back down. After 45 more minutes I got called to window 1. I was asked only 3 questions. How did we meet, when did we start talking and when did we get married. After that she smiled at me and said APPROVED!! The only thing I did not like was that they do no accept cash. I have no credit/debit card so the courier service said they would call me when my Visa was ready so I can make a credit card payment by phone and have it delivered the next day. Other than that it was smooth!
