Had my k1 visa interview this morning at the London embassy which was quick and easy.
Luckily for me I only live a short distance from the Embassy so I planned to walk over there for my 8am appointment but jumped on my bicycle as I fancied a bit of morning exercise. I arrived around about 7am and was the first in line, the great thing was that there's a bike rack just 25yds from where the visa line is so cycling turned out to be a great idea!!
They let us all in about 7:30. I got talking to people in the line who were there for many different types of visa's but for some reason there were lots of air hostesses from BA!! After the expected security checks I headed into a large hall and sat down with my magazine only to be called up 25 mins later. The guy behind the counter asked for various forms which I had to hand and 5 mins later I was sat back down reading again. Before I could even get back into my magazine I was called up asked how I met my fiancée, ... read complete review

I arrived on North Audley Street at 8:30am and paid the £3 to have Goulds Pharmacy hold my phone for me. My appointment was for 9:30am. I got to the embassy at 8;35am and there were about ten people already in the queue. I was asked for my name by a lady and upon finding me on her list, she instructed me to take a clear plastic bag to put my watch, belt and loose change in. I joined the queue and was told by the security guard at the front of the queue to have my appointment letter and passport ready. My letter and passport were checked and I was instructed to join the smaller queue just in front of the embassy guard house. They were letting people in 4 at a time and the queue went in very quickly. I put my plastic bag and wallet into a tray, with my document folder going through separately, and they were passed through the x-ray scanner. I then walked through the metal detector. All 4 of us in the guard house had to stand back against the wall as our items came through the scanner an... read complete review

Interview time: 9am
My train arrived at St Pancras at about 7.40am. Walked towards the Embassy, stopped at Goulds and paid £3 for them to look after my phone. Walked along to the Embassy, about 8.30 by this point. There was just a few people in front of me but there seemed to be a lot of other people stood in another queue. I got asked for my passport and interview letter, got my name crossed off the list, given a bag to put my belt in, and told to go join the line for the security check point. Went through security quickly with no problems, out the door of the hut, turned right, walked around and went up the steps and in to the reception desk, showed my appointment letter and passport and was given a number. Went up the steps and into main hall where there were lots of people. I sat waited, read a bit, waited some more, got my number called, went to see nice lady at a window round the corner and down the corridor. I got finger printed then asked some questions including fiance... read complete review

Well here I am ,never thought i would get here.My appointment letter arrive a week to me attending a management meeting in London 11 October, which was a good thing as the interview was schedulled for 13th October @ 09.00, this was a good thing as i was travelling from Littleborough in Lancashire, it gave me the chance to stay in london for a couple of days. I stayed within the KingsCross area near to the tub station (very Central),a taxi journey away costing around £8-10.00.(for some reason all the recommended hotels near to the Embassy were full). The day before the interview i spent shopping and sight seeing, headed to Oxford Street and Convent Garden, returned late to the hotel, settled down for the night with a take away curry and the Soaps, was not able to get much sleep as i thinking about the interview, the next morning 0.700 hours alarm woke me, got ready. Took a taxi to the Embassy, dropped off my luggage and all electronics, keys at Gould Pharmacy ( as recommended) cost £... read complete review

I won't get into the process of getting into the Embassy as I think that's been covered. The lady at the first window tried to tell John he was missing info regarding his most recent visit to the states. He advised her the proper paperwork was submitted with the dates on it. Thank goodness I sent him a copy of the paperwork because the woman just took our copy and used that. John was called to the 2nd window and the interviewer asked the following questions. Why did you leave when the K1 was issued? How long ago did we meet? How do we continue to communicate? How long have you ever lived in the States. Followed by I'm approving your visa...good luck! Easy peasy even with an old K1 from before.
