Had my k1 visa interview this morning at the London embassy which was quick and easy.
Luckily for me I only live a short distance from the Embassy so I planned to walk over there for my 8am appointment but jumped on my bicycle as I fancied a bit of morning exercise. I arrived around about 7am and was the first in line, the great thing was that there's a bike rack just 25yds from where the visa line is so cycling turned out to be a great idea!!
They let us all in about 7:30. I got talking to people in the line who were there for many different types of visa's but for some reason there were lots of air hostesses from BA!! After the expected security checks I headed into a large hall and sat down with my magazine only to be called up 25 mins later. The guy behind the counter asked for various forms which I had to hand and 5 mins later I was sat back down reading again. Before I could even get back into my magazine I was called up asked how I met my fiancée, where I met her and when the wedding is. I was then approved and told to go pay the courier fee...
I jumped back on my bike and checked the time..9:05am...I then cycled home and was drinking tea in my living room by 9:20. To be fair it was very quick and painless however I could see other people were getting themselves into a state due to not having the correct paperwork or being generally disorganised
If you go into the embassy with no electronics, all your paperwork in an organised pile, a relaxed attitude and a magazine for company you should sail through and be out the door without too much hassle.
