My appointment was booked for 9.30 and I arrived at the embassy at 8.50. Showed my appointment letter to a lady stood outside who directed me to a man stood by a small building. He checked my appointment letter and passport and I was asked to stand outside the door to what is the security area. The door opened, 3 of us were called through, bags, paperwork, belt on the scanner and through the archway, just like at the airport. I was asked if I had any electrical items (which I didn't, I'd left them at the hotel with my luggage). I was through the door, round the side of the building and inside the embassy where a lady at the reception desk checked my appointment letter and put a sticker on it, telling me to take a seat in the waiting area and listen out for my number. (The time on the sticker said 8.55.

I took a seat in the waiting area. There were a lot of "N" numbers being called out. Lots of kids going off to do camp America for the summer. The "I" numbers were few an... read complete review

I thought I would share my experiences with the London Embassy for all those still going through the process and wanting to know what the next steps are.

My appointment was for 08.00 at the Embassy and I had flown in the day before from Northern Ireland, after some minor drama with the plane being grounded for two hours because a back up system to a back up system failed (this was followed by the Stansted train being held up by engineering and the Tube having to stop for a reason unbeknown to the driver). Needless to say I was more than grateful to get to the hotel just off Oxford Street.

I left the hotel around 7.05 after talking to Jessica a little before she went to bed (she had her bridal shower the day before I flew over) and was at the Embassy roughly ten minutes later. By the time I got there a queue had started and I was the twelfth in line, chatting to the people ahead of me the majority of them appeared to be there for N visas. We were each calle... read complete review

I was lucky enough to have my fiance fly over to be with me for my interview. We left Cardiff on the 4am megabus to London Victoria. We left the house at 2:45am. A long day ahead! After managing to catch a little sleep on the bus on the way to London we arrived at 8:10am. Concerned about the rush hour on the tube (I was almost late to my medical due to the rush hour crowds on the tube at Victoria) we got a taxi to the Embassy. It wasnt too far on the tube so I knew a taxi wouldnt be too expensive. It was £8. A fair price.

Upon arriving at the Embassy we walked to Goulds Chemists to check in our electrical goods. We checked in 1 phone, 2 ipods, 2 sets of earphones, a usb stick, an ipad all for £3 total. They give you a raffle ticket for when you claim it back when youre done. There is a small cafe next to Goulds where we grabbed some toast and a drink to wait until 9am before joining the queue. We'd previously arranged with the embassy via email to have my fiance put o... read complete review

My experience was pretty much the same as everyone else's.
My appointment time was 9:30am so I got to the Embassy about 8:45 (it took longer to drop my stuff off and have photo's taken than I anticipated. Anyway, I thought I was going to be in for a seriously long wait because there seemed to be 100s of kids getting their visas to work the summer camps. I was wrong. Believe it or not I'd been processed, approved, paid for the courier, picked up my stuff from Gould's and was sitting in Starbucks with a massive grin on my face by 11am!
If you want to ask me questions about what happened in detail please message me but honestly it's all very straight forward and is well documented on this site.
Good luck to everyone still waiting - I'm off to look at flights!

i was informed of my interview date which was on 26.03 at 9am, around
6 weeks before, so we had an agonising 6 weeks wait ahead of us. i had
my medical in january before i had found out the date for the
interiew as medical is valid for a year and i did not know what they
might want from me at the medical and i wanted to ensure that i have
all injections etc done on time for the interview. it turned out that
this was a good move that i did not wait for the interview date first
and then booking my medical,as i have had some problems with the
medical and it was all resolved around 4 weeks before the interview. i
live in Suffolk were lots of people commute to London to work and the
train company uses this to their advantages (somehow this is legal)
therefore peak time ticket costs around £78 (!) for a 1.5h train trip
to London (which is also always overcrowded and you can only dream of
finding a... read complete review
