My interview was scheduled for 9am this morning, we stayed overnight in London at Marble Arch and walked down to the embassy to see how long it would take - 10 mins.

This morning, I arrived at the embassy at 8am for my interview. There was a long queue in front of me and many, many people still had mobile phones... they all got sent off to store them. I reached the security point at 8.50am and went into the embassy. The embassy was busy to the point of manic!

Having been given my 'I' number at reception, I settled down to wait. Lots of 'N' numbers called, the first 'I' number was called at 9.10am At 9.25am my number was called and I went to the window to check in my documents. The English guy there was friendly and polite but it was clear to me that this is purely procedural. I began to relax as I realised that no one was expecting there to be a problem, I just had to have the right documents. The only document that was queried was the I-134, the guy asked... read complete review

It was all pretty much the same as everybody else has described previously, Get through security, see the receptionist, sit in the hall and wait to be called...

The first window I went to they just took my docs, really nice helpful guy.
The second window a very dead pan gentleman interviewed me, to be honest I cant even remember the questions he asked as I was so nervous! but when he told me i was approved I wanted to jump through the glass and hug him!!

All in i think I got through in about two hours, including queuing up outside the embassy so not too painful at all!

Queue was huge and took a long time. Arrived at 8, finally got in at 9:08. The reason the queue took so long is many people still had phones and electronic devices. Some got sent away to store their phones, and came back later and still had iPads and kindles. And there was a long delay caused by some guy in an electric wheelchair who showed up without photo ID, and they stopped everything for half an hour just to process him and take him through security.

Anyway, after I got in the whole process didn't take long. I was waiting maybe half an hour for my first call, and then about ten or fifteen minutes for my second call. They only wanted my passport, birth cert, police cert, affidavit of support, one of Cori's pay slips, and a passport photo. The interview questions were all standard. Where/when/how we met, where Cori works, what I do, if I intend to get a job, what our plans are, where I'm going to live. The guy was real friendly and cheerful too.

Anyways... read complete review

Well that was all bit surreal. I got to the embassy for 07:05, there were two queue points, one for US citizens and one for visa applicants. I was the first there, some other people turned up and a lady come over to ask if any of us had electrical equipment or key fobs etc. Some did, so off they went directed to near by chemists that can store these things for a small price.

The lady then checked my letter and that I was on her list. After that, I was asked to wait by a pillar where I took off my belt and put it, my keys and money etc in my bag - in preparation for security. Security it pretty much the same as the airport, put your bag on the belt and walk through the scanner and pick up on the other side.

You then leave this small building outside the embassy and walk to the right, around the embassy to a different entrance. At reception I handed over my letter, MRV and passport. The receptionist then printed off some barcode labels and stuck them on th... read complete review
