Hello All, I don't want to bore you with all the details as to how to get to the Embassy in London or how to get through Security etc. as I'm sure that's all been said more than enough elsewhere. I would like to say though that my experience was overall a very positive one and the people at the Embassy were nice and professional. If you are going through the NVC in New Hampshire than your file will be sent to the EMbassy in London and will include pretty much everything you will need on the day of the interview. Even though the immigration interview letter will not ask you to bring any proof of relationship, do yourself a favor and bring as many photos as you can. I was asked if I had any photos on me and showed the Consul a wedding album and then was further asked for older pictures which I was able to produce as well. I was certainly glad to have brought all those pictures with me, even though again, I was not asked to do so. The interview itself was not very long, maybe 10 minutes m... read complete review

Caught a 5:43am train from my local station. Got into London Eustob just before 8 am. Got the tube to bond street and walked to the Embassy from there. Got outside to queue up around 8:20am. Got into the main building at 8:49am so only 30 mins of waiting outside. Went to reception and they gave me my number (I919) and then I went up into the waiting room. I think it must have been around 11:45ish when they first called my number.

First time I got called up was basically to hand in all my documents like my birth cert, police cert, the affidavit of support and the evidence, photo's for the visa and also scanned my fingerprints. The guy didnt really talk much apart from telling me what to do/give him and just asking when I would be flying so I said hopefully in 2 weeks time. He gave me a CD that has my chest x-ray on it from the medical and also form to fill out (for the courier to arrange delivery) so after 10 mins with him, went and sat back down in the waiting room and f... read complete review

As told to me by my fiancé...

After stopping by Gould's to drop off his phone and other electronic items, he joined the queue at the Embassy gate. He said there were maybe 60 people ahead of him, but he was inside by 7:50AM.
Around 8:35AM, he met with a black woman who had braided hair with gold beads on the ends. She also happened to be from my birth state of Maryland, go figure! He said she was nice. She took his paperwork and compiled the file that would be used for the interview. In the interview letter, they asked him to bring the DS-156, 157 and 156k forms, even though those were already mailed in. He had copies of all of those plus the DS-230, which wasn't mentioned in the letter. However, when he went to the first window, he was asked for all of those DS forms, including the DS-230. So, make sure you have copies of all of the DS forms submitted and bring at least one additional set of copies just in case.

She also said that if the petition... read complete review

My wife decided she wanted to attend the embassy with me so we arranged for her to visit for a holiday as well. We had plans if approved for me to travel to the U.S on the 29th August 2011 via Dublin.

I booked a hotel outside of London center so that we could get to the embassy relatively early and refreshed, but we did not envisage the riots that were taking place nationwide, however they did not affect us at all, we saw signs of rioting, but we were not affected, just as well as her family were a little bit concerned as it had reached international headlines.

On the morning of the interview we got a taxi from the hotel to the embassy which cost around 20 pounds and were in the park outside the embassy by 6:30ish and were first in line by 7am, just after we got there, it started to get busy with officials setting up the bollards and desks ready to check peoples paperwork prior to entering the security segment.

Our paperwork was checked and ... read complete review

Mark had his K-1 interview scheduled today for 8:30am. He woke up this morning with a phone call from me at 4:20am after a restful 2 hour night of sleep. He got to Kings Cross at 7:40 after an hour 45 min train ride. Took a cab to Goulds pharmacy to drop off his phone and keys.
Proceeded to get in a really short queue around 8:00am at the US Embassy. He went through security and sat down around 8:10am.
He was called to a window by his number I910 at 9:10am. Presented to the moderately pleasant British black woman his birth cert, divorce cert, police cert, and copies and court records if any, MRV fee receipt, followed by a few basic questions about the forms, then asked for the I-134 documents. This only took about 15 minutes. She then asked him to take a seat again and wait for his name to be called.
After another hour and a half and after lots of time to memorize each window and the purpose of each he came to the conclusion he assumed the K visas get called to win... read complete review
