Hi All, Had my interview last Friday and yipeeee I got approved. Now little details so it may help someone else.
I was dreading that the snow might hinder my travelling to the embassy but luckily it only started to snow when I was leaving the embassy. I got there around 7am and went to the cafe next to Goulds pharmacy and they were a nice bunch.
I would recommend anyone to come early have a cup of tea and wait till 7:20 and head out to the embassy. The queue was already building up it doesn't matter if you are going in from an immigrant visa as (my opinion) only few people were there for "I" visas.
Waiting inside is a pain, I don't wear a watch and I left my mobile at Gould's so I was a little restless but ignored it and started counting chickens with every "N" number passing me by.
Finally they called me and met a nice older gentlemen who actually had a strong Italian or Spanish accent but very soft spoken, he actually put me... read complete review

Since I had an interview early Monday morning, we stayed in London for the weekend so that Janice could look at some last exhibitions before she left for the US(top tip - we found the 4 star Cumberland Hotel right by Marble Arch has winter weekend special rates for only £85 a night - bargain for this part of London, very short walk to the Embassy)
Put the phone into Goulds at around 7.15 (they were already open and doing business) and joined the queue, already about 40 strong, outside the embassy, waiting in the light snow (settling on the shrubs in Grosvenor Square but not on the pavement). They started allowing people through security at 7.30am, where they discovered that I had a head-torch in my pocket that I'd forgotten about. Since I've broken my foot and it's difficult to walk, rather than take the torch back to Goulds, I left it hanging over one of the railings in Grosvenor Square (it was still there when I got out) and returned to the head of the queue, which th... read complete review

We have just finished our processing for our K-1 Visa! Our story is a bit unique, and perhaps one day I will shall all the trials and tests we have had to endure through this process. But as far as the actual interview as concerned, it went very well. A couple things to mention for those that follow:
1. We arrived at 7:15, although our interview wasn't until 9:30. When we arrived we saw people in line and thought we should join the queue. In hindsight, prolly should have lined up at the appropriate time, but my fiance' was allowed in, and had no problem. It was good that he did line up early, because the amount of people both before and after was quite a few. Talking about 200 or so all there at the same time. BE PREPARED FOR A LONG WAIT!
2. Paperwork-almost had a delay here, as the rep that was looking over his paperwork that is required to be brought for the visa, could have gone wrong. They looked at Birth Certificate, Police Certificate (Only the ACPO for... read complete review

Overall a very smooth process.
I decided to book a hotel room at the Wembley Travelodge in the Ealing area for the night before, since a search had come up with that as the cheapest option and for a £5 charge I could have 24 hour parking so could leave all my stuff in the car for the day rather than worrying about stowing things at the Chemist that everyone mentions. The next day I took a 7am tube train in from Hanger Lane Station to Bond Street Station and walked the short way to the Embassy from there.
On approaching the main entrance (having arrived at around 7.50 am for an 8.30 am appointment) I joined the queue to the right side of the entrance (which by chance turned out to be the right one as I hadn't noticed the signs indicating this) and was surprised to see that there were people already in the embassy and already being admitted. Whilst standing in the queue my appointment letter was checked by one of the staff, and then as I got to the front o... read complete review

In all, my experience at the US Embassy in London was pretty average. My appointment was at 8am and I arrived a half hour before as directed. There were only a few people in the queue but by the time they began allowing people to enter, the queue grew pretty fast. They get people through pretty fast. You have to show your interview appointment letter and MRV receipt.
When inside the Embassy, you again show the above documents and they place a sticker with I9-- and you procede to the waiting room. I was I901, the first immigrant visa of the day. There are far more N numbers than I, as they are for nonimmigrant visas.
I waited apoximately 15 minutes before being called to a window. At this window I spoke to (a pretty rude and unfriendly) asian lady, who collected the documents outlined in packet 4 and also handed me back my CD with my chest x-ray which you are told to keep in your hand luggage when flying and also a pamphlet on domestic abuse in the US. I wa... read complete review
