I arrived at the Embassy at 8:20am after dropping off my mobile phone at Gould's Pharmacy. Finally got inside the Embassy at 9:05am. I was concerned as my interview was scheduled for 9am but the security staff outside said that the time is irrelevant and not to worry. Once inside, I got my ticket number from the desk and took a seat.
I was called after waiting for about 20 minutes. I handed my original documents over and had my fingerprints taken. The man gave me my X-Ray DVD, gave me my courier form to fill out and then told me to take a seat.
I was called for my interview about 2 and a quarter hours later. My officer was a lovely lady, very smiley. She went through my documents and gave me back my originals. She made me swear the usual oath that everything I was saying and had said was the truth, etc. Then she asked how we met, have we met each other's family and friends, have we visited each other if so when and how many times, how we felt about each other, and then finally she asked why I wanted to move to the US and why I wanted to marry my Fiancee.
All through the questioning she was very happy and smiley which naturally helped to relax me. All the questions were things that you would talk about to a friend or relative.
After the questioning she said she needed someone else to come over. Her supervisor came over and showed me the envelope that I would receive, that I wasn't allowed to open it, etc. After that they asked me to sign a form and print my Fiancees name on it.
They then finally both looked at me and with big smiles said "congratulations your Visa has been granted today". I said thanks very much and how much I wanted to hug them, then left and paid for my Visa delivery.
Everyone at the Embassy was very friendly and was genuinely excited for me, or so I felt.
