My interview took place on 20/02/2013 and scheduled for 8am. I arrived at the que at about 7h30am. Que was quite long already. Was a bit nervous because I did not pay the fee before. A lady came and checked everybody's apt letter. I told her that I did not have an MVC receipt. Not sure what she said but something about staying in the que. (Huh...??)
Qued for about 25 minutes before I reached the security checks. Showed the friendly security guy my apt letter and again confessed my omission about not paying the visa fee. He didn't say anything and waived me through! (You don't say!!! )
Now I reach the reception desk and again I'm about to plead guilty and confess when the guy says I should take a seat after checking my apt letter. ....!! (Knock me over with a feather, will you please...!!)

I sit down and wait for my number to be called: 1910. After about 40+ minutes my number's called to "window 14, please". Young asian guy on the other side of the window (... read complete review

After leaving home at 5:30 I arrived at the embassy at about 6:50 and there was already someone else waiting there. By 7:15 the queue was getting to about 20-30 people. I walked back to Goulds and dropped of my phone and keys (its so easy) and headed back to the embassy.

Everyone in the queue was really friendly and that made the time fly past. Shortly before going through security a woman came along checking everyone's appointment letters. When I arrived at the main building I was issued with my number and I headed upstairs to the main waiting area. Like everyone says, its like a bank with lots of cashiers kiosks.

I was called up to kiosk 1 after about 10 mins. I was greeted by the Asian lady that everyone talks of. She speaks very quietly so was not easy to understand. She checked all my paperwork and only needed my fiancee's letter from her employer and paystubs for the affidavit of support. She asked when I was planning on flying and I said as ... read complete review

I had my interview yesterday and I was APPROVED! Here is how the day panned out:-
8.07am - entered the Embassy
9.45am - Called up for my first meeting with a Consulate officer. I was I913 which meant I was the 13th visa application of that day. The lady at desk 1 was very professional. She gave me my xray back and told me to keep it in my hand luggage. She then asked me to give my finger prints before asking me for the following: letter of interview, passport, birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce papers, I864's, page 3 & 4 of the DS-230 and my 2 photos. She asked me when I intended to travel and went through a list of questions, ticking her boxes appropriately. She told me to go to the payment desk and return to desk 1. She then handed me a pink courier form and told me to fill it out whilst I wait to be called for my interview. (Take a pen!!)
10.05am - Sat down and waited for my name to be called.
11.00am - Called by name to window 15 where a ... read complete review

Hello!

Had my interview yesterday and it was approved

My appointment was at 9am but I arrived at the embassy at 6.45am since I heard it was first come first served! Had a bit of an issue getting in the building when security checked my appointment letter it was in my maiden name but my passport was in my married name. I had already spoken to the NVC and emailed the embassy about this and they both said it wasn't an issue but I started getting worried when the security man said he didn't want to let me in! The woman who was checking the names on the list called someone inside the embassy and they gave me the all clear to enter. I also showed them my birth certificate and marriage certificate to prove my name change. So, after that was cleared up I made it in and was given my number. I got in the building at 7.45am.

Within about 10 minutes I was called to the window and the guy took my fingerprints and got me to sign some d... read complete review
