Our interview went very smoothly. Turns out we collected far too much paperwork, but hey, too much is better than not enough.
The process leading up to the interview was very stressful, but I think that was due to unnecessary stress of the unknowns and fear of something going awry. We ended up getting an RFE for a copy of the marriage license and additional affidavits attesting to the marriage, but other than that, it was smooth sailing. The whole process took us 5 months and cost roughly $2,000. Some of this was unnecessary expenditures (me traveling with hubby to medical and interview, collection of unnecessary paperwork).
At the interview, we had to queue up outside the Embassy for about 20-30 minutes before going through security (which was slightly like a joke, as the officers were just playing/joking around the whole time). Once in, we waited for our number to be called - I was allowed to accompany my hubby the whole time, which was fortunate seein... read complete review

My visa interview was on the 22nd March at 9am. I arrived in the area just after 7.15am and left my phone, headphones and keys at Gould's Pharmacy (£3 for a small sealed envelope)and got a coffee and a breakfast bun from Grosvenor's cafe next door - much cheaper than Starbucks and the coffee is good! Gould's was very efficient. I headed over to the Embassy and joined a small queue - after about 5 mins a security guard came out and moved us over to the black bollards and made us form a queue behind two trolley desks. A blonde lady then moved down the queue checking visa appointment letters and asking about electrical items - quite a few people obviously hasn't read the information on the Embassy website as they ducked out and headed to Gould's to deposit their belongings. The queue moved quite quickly onto a security guard who checked our letters and passports - we were then called forward 4 at a time into the security hut for screening. I'd forgotten to take my torch out and had to du... read complete review

My interview in London was scheduled for 8.00 a.m. on March 19th, 2013.
My wife and I both attended the interview as believed this would support our application and she was company for me; however I realize that most people do not do this and it is not a requirement.
We stayed nearby at the Marble Arch Inn (not hotel). The room was quite inexpensive at around £65 and it was more than adequate for us. We specifically picked this hotel as it was only 5 minutes walking distance from the embassy. Most other hotels in the Park Lane area are a few hundred pounds per night.
After some tips I picked up on this website, we went to the embassy at around 7 a.m. and it is a good thing we did this since the queue builds up rapidly within a small timeframe. My advice here would be to queue near the central black bollard as that is where they start checking the appointment letters at from around 7.45 a.m. We did not bring any electricals or keys of any type as we did no... read complete review

I had my interview at the U.S Embassy in London at 8am on Wednesday, March 6 2013. I came to London on the previous day ensure that I arrived for my interview on time. As I was staying in a hotel in the Bayswater area, I was fortunate enough to be near to the Queensway tube station, which is on the central line. So I left my hotel around 6.15am and took the central line from Queensway directly to Bond Street, from which it's about a 10 minute walk to the embassy.
In anticipation of the queues that I've read so much about, I arrived at the embassy a little after 7am. Sure enough there was already a queue, so I got in line and waited until they opened the doors around 7.45am. I came prepared ensuring that I did not bring any electronic devices with me, and left them at the hotel.
At around 7.30ish (time was a bit blurry for me) a lady came to the queue post and informed us all to have our interview letter and passport ready for inspection. She then checked... read complete review

My fiance had his interview this morning and this is his experience...or the best that we can remember through our relief and excitement.
His interview was scheduled for 9:00am and he arrived at the Embassy just before 8:00am after dropping off his keys at Goulds. He said it was simple to get through security if you follow the security guidelines, and once you are through they rush you off lol.
Once inside he was given his number and then waited about an hour until he was called to the first window where he was met by an Indian woman, who he said was not the happiest of people. She asked for his documents and took his fingerprints, gave him his form for the courier and then he took a seat again.
He said he waited another hour or so before being called for the interview. He said that once he rounded the corner and saw the nice Africian American woman smiling at him he felt much more relaxed (we had read several reviews where it was mention... read complete review
