Got to London euston around 6:45, jumped in a cab straight to the embassy (cost about £8.00). Felt v. overwhelmed by the massive golden eagle and flags and Ronald Reagan but was alright. Walked to Gould pharmacy (knew where it was as I went on google street view a few days before, v easy to get to!) it was closed so I got a cup of tea and wandered around the park opposite the embassy. Goulds opens at 7:30 officially but I went in about 7:20 I think and dropped in my phone and charger (£3.00).
Walked back to the embassy and joined the queue, helpful ladies went up and down the queue asking if we had our appointment letters and sending people who had electronics/keys to goulds (so if you can't find it, ask them!). Got to the front of the queue, another lady checked my passport and letter and marked me off her list. Then had my passport checked by another person and went through airport-like security scanners.
Entered embassy, got a ticket with my number on and w... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy at 7:15 for my 8:30 appointment, after leaving my phone at the nearby Goulds Pharmacy (a 30 second walk up North Audley Street). There were already maybe 15ish people in the queue, and the folks without bags were handed clear plastic ones for things like watches, wallets etc. After having appointment letters checked we were allowed 4 at a time through the airport-style security and into the embassy. Everything is clearly signed and all staff were really polite.
Received my number from reception (I-907) and was directed through to the waiting room. It wasn't as big or as intimidating as I'd been expecting! They began calling numbers on the big screens at 8:00. By 8:25 my number was called to window 1 where I was greeted by a very friendly lady who took my appointment letter and passport, the 2 passport photos and asked for my birth certificate and police certificates with copies. She also took my fingerprints while asking me if I'd been previously... read complete review

I Arrived in London the day before interview from Anglesey, North Wales, with my appointment at 8:30am August 1st. I stayed at a friends house in Ealing Broadway, a 30 minute trip on the tube, on the west bound central line where I got off at Bond street station. A 10 minute walk to the Embassy.
I set off from Ealing Broadway just before 7, and after dropping off my phone and bag at Goulds Pharmacy for 3 pounds each. I was at the Embassy in line at 7.45am, and it was pretty long even at that time. I finally was sitting down in the waiting room at 8.25am, after they checked my interview letter and passport at a small desk outside, went through security, and again showed my letter and passport at reception.
I waited about an hour to be seen at the first window, where I was greeted by a happy african american woman, who chatted a lot which put me at ease. She was particularly excited about the warm weather that day. I got asked to give my fingerprints, my bir... read complete review

I am in the process for a spouse visa and our four sons are in the process for immediate relative visas (my husband just missed passing on his USC status to them so they have to go in as LPRs like me but can become USCs on arrival in the US thanks to the Child Citizenship Act).
We informed the Embassy (via a covering letter with the DS320s) that our medicals were scheduled for the afternoon of 29 July. Just days later (and a few days before we were due to travel) I received a phone call informing me that our Interviews had been scheduled for 8am on 30 July. The woman on the phone was actually pretty impolite to me. She castigated me for not knowing my in-laws' postcode off the top of my head (I needed the appointment letters sent there because we are staying with them as a base for travelling to London) even though it only took me 30 seconds to open up my address book and tell her. I was also told that my in-laws have a ridiculous address. I just tried to remain cal... read complete review

We had the interview on Friday in London and it went pretty smoothly. One word of warning is that you have to wait outside the embassy in line. We waited for 40 minutes during which there was a torrential downpour. While the US consulate workers had umbrellas, those of us who assumed we'd be under cover in case it started raining were wrong and soaked. Keep those documents and papers dry!
They were very courteous and clear. We had all the papers in order. The only issue was that we had a copy of the immigrant's birth certificate instead of the original. But since everything else was in order, there was no big problem. I had to explain that I was being transferred from the UK office to the US office of my company. I showed some emails they accepted that as proof of my ability to support my wife. Since all the papers were good, we were told to sit. After another 45 minutes or so we went to a different window and an official asked us informally about how we met a... read complete review
