Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived a 8:15am for a 9am appointment and the line probably had about 50 or 60 people already waiting. Started raining, so pending the weather i would advise a jacket or umbrella, as i didn't and got soaked, which wasn't very pleasant when i got in 45min later. Dried out eventually though, as it was roasting inside! Anyway, waited about 30mins for first call up, nice american guy, very pleasant and informative. Asked for Passport first ,then took my finger prints, after that he asked if i went online and signed up to pay my visa and book the courier. I explained i had paid my visa by phone before the changes but went online and paid for the courier. I gave him the MRV receipt and showed him the courier info i printed off the website. Next he asked for my birth certificate plus one copy & and my police certificate plus one copy and the affidavit of support, which consisted of the I-134 form & letter from my fiancee's employer. He only took the pay stubs because i offered them and didn't ask for anything else.
One issue i did have and thought i might be worth mentioning.... as he was going through all the application forms i had previously submitted, he noticed the copies for the DS-156 & DS-157 were not there. I know i sent then, as i made a complete copy of the pack i sent and brought that with me, fortunatly! So, i was able to give him the copies from that pack, he was happy with that and quite impressed. I couldn't take the credit though, as it was my girlfriend that told me to do that but we had a laugh about it, once my heart removed itself from my throat anyway. I would advise you to make copies of all the forms and take them with you.
Next came a two and half hour wait for the interview, which went pretty slowly, as you just stare at the screen, scared to miss your number. Eventually i got called up about 12noon and was greeted by a very pleasant and smiling african american women. Instantly i felt at ease and talking with her was more of a chat, than an interview. I don't excatly remember all the questions and the order she asked them but they were all pretty similar to the questions on other peoples posts. Where did you meet? How did you meet? How did your relationship progress? Have you meet her parents? All pretty straight forward and she seemed genuinely interested, which made it very easy. After that, she said i'm happy to say you have been approved! She then asked about the courier and if i had went online to register for the delivery, which worries me a little bit, as the first gentleman asked a lot about it as well and i have been reading that there experiencing 'teething' problems with the new system, so i'll just have to wait and see i suppose.
All in all pretty good experience.
