My interview was October 29th at 9.00am, so I caught a 5am train from Worcester to London Paddington and arrived at 7.30am. I walked 20 minutes to the Gould pharmacy and dropped off my belongings. I arrived at the embassy at about 8.15am, queued up and was inside and sat down by 8.45am. I was sat around for about an hour and a half until I was called up to Window 1 and was greeted by a friendly British guy who asked me to sign a few papers then asked for my Birth Certificate, Police Certificate, MRV Receipt and I-134 and supporting documents. He then handed me my chest x-ray in a white packet and asked me to take a seat and wait for my number to be called again. An hour passed and I can safely say I was bricking it, I had traveled down alone so had to go through the whole thing alone (very daunting)! I was called up to Window 16 and was greeted by a not so friendly chubby American lady. She handed me back my birth certificate, asked me to sign other forms and then started drilling me w... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for 9 o clock, Friday morning. Taking advice from previous reviews, I arrived early (around 7.15 after dropping phone at Goulds). There were around 10 people there, but no sort of queue. I asked and got told to queue up in the middle of the bollards, rather than close to the little visa building as they erect a tent to check people's documents and get into a 2nd line. Ended up being 3rd in line. Got into the waiting area after getting ticket number. Sat for around 15 mins then called to window 13. Met a polite and efficient American guy who took documents and finger prints. (CRC, Birth cert, I-134, Turbo tax form. He didn't ask for any sort of evidence aside fromthose forms. Got sent to sit back down. Around half an hour later I got called up to speak to the rather VJ famous African American lady. She asked how we met and I ended up waffling on about our whole relationship while she took notes. She checked a couple of dates, made a joke or two, then told me m... read complete review

Did my research on here by reading lots of embassy reviews...so glad I did as it put me slightly at ease with the whole process!
Pretty smooth morning in the embassy. Joined the queue at about 7.30am and was in the embassy at 8am. My appointment said 9am so no problem with getting in early. Sat around looking out the window waiting for my number to flash up. Got called up to the first window to be met by a very friendly American guy. Went through all my paperwork taking my passport, birth certificate, police certificate, MRV payment receipt and then the sponsorship forms from my fiance and his dad. He congratulated me on my engagement and then told me the next time my number gets called it will be for my interview. Went back to the big room and continued to watch all the various N numbers fly through. Glad the I numbers are called in order as it makes it a lot easier to know when you're gonna get the call. About 10.30 my number appeared again...my stomach flipped at that... read complete review

Had my interview on Fri 25 Oct. Arrived 7.10 am in the dark and drizzle. All went as others have reported: queue up and have passport/interview letter checked against their schedule, passport scrutinised by big security guy, enter the security room, belongings x-rayed, body scan, then out again and walk round building to Embassy entrance. Given ticket number at reception. Wait in big hall. Called to window 1 with Chinese-American woman, friendly though hard to hear/understand with noise in the hall, who checked my paperwork, took fingerprints, photos, passport. Sat down again and then called to Window 16 with pleasant African-American woman who returned our original documents which had been submitted to NVC, asked how we'd met and when, when we'd got married, where my husband's sons lived in the USA and that was it. Visa approved!! After all the months of worry, obsessing over the paperwork etc it almost seemed like an anti-climax. Altogether I was there 1.5 hours and not more than 10... read complete review

I didn't go by my husband gave me the details
He drove to London and parked nearby and the price was about £20. He thought it would be best to avoid possible train delays, but had to leave the Midlands around 4:20 am for an 8am interview.
Everything went smoothly. He said everyone was nice especially the lovely African American woman who has now become somewhat of a visa celebrity.
He mentioned that they were only concerned with the things they ask for on the sheet accompanying the interview letter they sent. Extras are always good but they did not even look at them.
They asked him questions about how we met and when we got together and also if he was ever denied a visa or ESTA. He had been: Our honeymoon cruise docked in Florida, and they denied him a visa for lack of substantial ties to the UK. Also, ESTA was denied 3 years later when we were going to visit family because of visa denial. This all sucked... read complete review
