"I stayed at the Rose Court Hotel. Cheap and cheerful and less than 10mins walk from the embassy. On the morning of the 9am interview, I arrived at 6:45. There were 3 people there already. At the front of the embassy are two glass cabins; the left for Citizens, the right for Immigration. At 7am a man came out and put up a booth and a sign for the immigration queue for us to queue 'here'. There were about 15 of us now. We queued on the wrong side of the sign, so shuffled round to the other. At around 7:15? A lady came out and informed the 40 of us that the queue was going to be split into two: 8am interviews were to stay in the first queue, and anyone after 8am would form a second queue. We adjusted accordingly. By 7:30 it looked like there were around 50 - 60 people. She started checking off people's DS-160, interview letter and passports against a list and they were allowed to enter through the glass cabin, where the security is, to go on through to the entrance. At some p... read complete review

So I got to the Embassy pretty early, at about 6:45 am, for my interview at 8:00 am. At this time there was already about a dozen of us waiting around.

Things didn't really start progressing until around 7:30-7:45 am, at which point they started processing the queue, which by that point was pretty long. First off, we queued to talk to some individuals in a small temporary tent just in front of the security entrance. They checked my passport, interview letter and DS-160, and then sent me to a second queue, still outside. In this queue, they check your passport and interview letter again, then send me to go through the security checkpoint. This is very much like an airport security point, with x-ray and metal detection.

Once inside the Embassy grounds, you go around the side of the building to the Visa entrance, and speak to a receptionist who again checks your passport, your interview letter and DS-160. They then issue you a ticket number, which they stuck ... read complete review

was very scared when i went to my k1 interview, but looking back wasn't scary at all. my appointment time was very early. i traveled into London ( that's scary enough) found where to go and signed in using one line then was told to join an even bigger line. took about 20 mins standing in front of the gate before i was called over, my forms and passport was checked to make sure it was me
after going through xray, i then headed round the building through the doors up the steps and headed to reception. there i was given a number to look out for.
the numbers come up on a screen. whoop whoop number called- i went to a booth, handed over the documents that they wanted, which was put in a folder. fingerprints checked. yep definitely me lol. then i was told to retake a seat.
10 mins later my number was called again to another booth, where a lovely American lady was, she asked me some basic questions to make sure she was talking to the right person. she... read complete review

Turned up early at 7.15 to drop my belongings in at Goulds Pharmacy, and then headed round the corner to be greeted by a large queue. Shortly before 7.30 they started checking people in the queue for the letter and DS-160. Once they see you have everything in order they send you to join queue number two which is the queue to get in. This takes a long time, but they make you put metallic objects in a clear plastic back and your coats etc go through the x-ray machine. It was at this point I realised you can actually take your phone in, just not a laptop. So I could have saved myself some money!

When in, the receptionist ladies check your letter and put a sticker on it with you number. I got called up within 20 mins to one of the counters. They check you have everything there, ask some simple questions and then tell you to sit back down and be called for interview.

After 20-40 mins I was called up. To my surprise, the interview is conducted at a window. I en... read complete review
