Review Topic: K1 Visa

I arrived outside the consulate this morning at 7am sharp and there were two security booths, one for citizenship services the other for visa applications. Nobody was there in line and the place was empty. I asked the guard what time we'll be called and if cell phones are allowed inside and he replied "7:30am and yes." Also, I was told that visitors aren't allowed in unless "you're on the list and have an appointment", check the approval guidelines.

Anyway, within 15 minutes of arriving (7:15am), there were hordes of people standing in line now. I would estimate 50 people at 7:30am. The guards pushed out carts and separated us into two queues based on appointment time and checked your passport and appointment letter, then we went through x-ray (like airport security); belts, pocket change, bags and stuff.

I followed the signs to the embassy after security and approached a front desk (passport and appointment letter checked), and I was issued a ticket numbe... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Well I arrived in London the night before and found accommodation using air b&b and had a very.... interesting experience there, but that's besides the point.

My interview was 9.30am but on the recommendation of fellow VJ users I got there early and ended up arriving around 7.40am. The queue was already huge so I'd recommend striving for 7am arrival if possible. I was directed towards the immigrant visa queue and somehow ended up in the line for 8am appointments (and didn't bother to mention mine was 9.30 :P) and was outside until about 8.10am. When I got into the embassy, I was given the ticket I915 which meant I was the 15th immigrant visa they were processing that morning. They were on I903 when I sat down and I waited about an hour before being called to window 1. It seemed that about four of the twenty five windows were calling I numbers and the rest were other types of visas. At the first window I was asked for my affidavit of support, police certificate (returned ... read complete review

Interview was at 9.30 am, thanks to this site, I was done, dusted, approved and back on the streets of London by 8.49am The key is getting there super early, informing the staff you are there for an Immigrant visa(as this puts you right to front of the queue)and being prepared.I was no.I901, my bum didnt even touch the seat before I was called to the first window, I was complimented on my admin, however, no copies were asked for,and no evidence of our relationship was asked for. They are not there to trip you up, just answer honestly and you will be fine , special thanks to Pheebs from this site who has been an angel xxx

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Arrived at the Embassy at 7.50. I had planned on getting there earlier but the little one (she's 5) was not quick to move this morning; that being said, we were inside the Embassy by 8.15. They only checked my passport and interview letter - didn't bother to look as my daughter's US passport.

Got called up to the initial screening at 8.50 and was met by a friendly woman. She mentioned how I need to get citizenship this time (this was my second green card) and complained about how much time and money, as well as stress, it is now taking for people to get through the process. She was saying how everything has changed and you can't even get the visa on the same day now. It was nice to know they are aware of what we go through.

I then sat and waited until about 10am for my interview. Waiting for the number to pop up on the screen was driving me crazy and it was at this point that the iPad came in handy for my daughter.

The interview wasn't re... read complete review
