Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Posting for my husband, who attended his interview on March 17th, 2015. His appointment was for 8:00am, he arrived at 7:20am. The overall process was very simple, however they had misplaced his medical papers which added an extra hour. He was out of the building by 11:30am with an approval!! (They hardly asked him any questions at all about our marriage, they just wanted all the correct paperwork)

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Following advice from members on VJ I arrived super early and was about number 20 in the queue. Staff came down the line and checked appointment times. Since mine was 9:00am they asked if I wouldn't mind going for a coffee and popping back after that.

When I returned the queue was much longer but moving at a steady pace and when I was about 15 from the front my appointment letter was checked and as I was there for an I mmigrant visa I was walked through to security.

The hall was pretty full when I got in and I waited about 20 minutes to be called to the first desk. The chap there took my passport, birth certificate and police certificate. I had to write my name on the back of two photographs. He then took my fingerprints then told me to make payment at the cashier and to return to him.

When I return he asked if my husband had given me the I-864 form and his IRS statement. He checked when my partner went back to the US and since this... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I am completing this on behalf of my fiancé. He told me that from start to finish his experience was easy and straight forward. He arrived at the embassy and was in and out fairly quickly. He sounded like he was smiling from ear to ear when he told me of his entire experience. His views it was easy and his CO was very nice and entire experience was very good.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had a 9am appointment in London. I stayed in the Mornington Hotel, which is a 20 minute walk through Hyde Park from the Embassy (I would recommend this hotel). I joined the visa line at about 8:40. A line organizer was triaging people and directing people with later appointments to Starbucks down the street. When she got to me - as I was a K1, I got to skip the line and go straight to the security line. Once inside I waited about 20 minutes until my number was called, and went to my window. The lady there took my documents (she didn't want the copies I made, but I would never suggest not bringing them!), and when she asked if I was nervous, encouraged me by informing me that K1 visas are almost never denied, and you would have to do "really bad things" to have it denied. Back to my seat, and after about 15 more minutes I was called up the second time. The second lady asked me for my fiancée's name, how we met, whether we visited each other since I left the US, and what her s... read complete review
