My interview was on June 17 at 1pm. I'd had a letter updating my time from 8am to 1pm but not an email. Got to the embassy at 12.15pm, by which time I was about 10th in line. Shortly after 12.30 they started processing everyone in line and doing the security check. I set off the alarm about 3 times before they realized what was causing it - a big necklace, which I normally would be aware of removing in airports but I was so nervous I forgot.

I got stickers with my number in line and sat down to wait. The screen at the front of the room was helpful in displaying which documents to get ready. I can't remember how long I waited to be seen but it didn't feel too long. Once called to the window, the guy checked I had all the documents required and asked a couple of quick questions, and I went to sit down again. I hadn't brought a print-out of the courier confirmation but it wasn't a big problem - he just had to print it himself.

Then I sat down again to await t... read complete review

First things first! No matter what time your appointment is, make sure you get there at least an hour early. Even if you have to wait in a cafe for however long, just get there early!!

(My fiance was able to come with me. If you bring your fiance, make sure you let the embassy know and bring the confirmation email with you as evidence.)

Appointment was at 13:00. We would've arrived at the embassy at 12:15 but our train was delayed quite a bit. Once we got there we went to a lady sitting at this desk who looked over my (and my fiance's) passport and interview letter. Took all of 30 seconds. Then you go through the little 'airport' like baggage check. They female security guard mentioned somehthing about keyboards. So don't bring a laptop or a keyboard for your iPad because they aren't allowed in. Once that was done, walked around the corner into the building and they gave us the ticket. By this point it's about 13:04!! We waited a while then my number came ... read complete review

I am writing this review for my husband Kevin. His interview was June 16th originally scheduled at 9:30am but thanks to VJ we found out that all London interviews were being rescheduled to 1pm. Thank goodness for this site because London never answered me back on the contact form when asked them to confirm this change nor did NVC know anything about the change. So all was fine, but had we not known he would of been keeping himself busy for hours.

He arrived early because an earlier train was available. Caught a taxi to the embassy and had a wander around because it was only about 11am at the time. He walked up to an employee and she told him to come back around 12:30. He thought the park was wonderful to have while waiting and there was plenty of options if you wanted to go to a Starbucks, etc close by. He noticed the original crowd had moved on and saw that there was a podium of such set up. No one was in a formed line yet, and then one person stood by the podium so he... read complete review

For K-1 Fiance Visa Interview:
I'm writing this on behalf of my fiance

Arrived at the embassy at 11:00, was told by an official to come back at 12:30 because he had an Immigrant Visa. There was a long line that had formed when he first got there- but those were all Non-Immigrant Visas.

Came back at 12:20, waited in line about 20 minutes, and was then asked to show his interview letter and passport. They then called the first 4 people in line to go inside the embassy. Once he got inside, he sat in the large room for a little over an hour.

His number appeared on the big screen and he was called to his booth. This part may have differed slightly from other's experiences because the gentleman that questioned my fiance was very intense. These are the questions he was asked:
1. How do you spell your name
2. How did we meet
3. How long ago did we meet
4. What were you doing in America when you met your ... read complete review

Very easy and you seem to get prioritised to go straight through the queue. I got the impression as long as all your paperwork is in order there will be no problems.

Interview lasted about 5 questions and felt more like a formality. Visa came very soon afterwards.

Some people described them as being extremely friendly but I didn't find that to be too true. They were very professional and courteous which is all you need.
