Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband had his interview 7/10/2015. From what he told me, it was a fairly painless process. His appointment was at 1:00pm and he arrived early as to not be late. He was able to get through security easily and they even let him take his messenger bag in.

He went inside and waited in a large hall with about 100 other people. He was first called up to hand over his paperwork, which he had all organized making the process easier. After that he had to wait about an hour to be called up for his interview. The lady behind the counter was nice and asked him three questions.

1) How did we meet?
This lead into the long story of how my husband and I have known each other for 10 years and were friends before we started dating which she commented on how nice that was.

2) Where was he moving to in the US?

3) Who Douglas was?
This is my stepfather and joint sponsor.

That was it. He was approved and free to... read complete review

My experience was great overall. I was asked the below questions:
1. What does your fiance do for a living?
2. What is he studying to be?
3. Does he have any siblings?
4. How/where did you meet?
5. Is XXXXX his mothers name? (referring to our affidavit of support)

The she congratulated me and said my visa was approved!

Very simple, although I waited 2.5 hours.

Excellent!

I had my interview today 7/7/15 and it was a fairly fast process. The interview time was at 1pm so I got there early. Had to stand in a line outside to confirm my appointment time. Then you go through security. Which is like any airline security.

Once inside you get given your appointment number then enter a huge hall and wait. I waited roughly 45mins to be called to the first window where you hand over all your documents they want. Remember to print out your DS 160 form otherwise you may not be able to continue. Then i sat down again and got called up in about 15mins for the interview.

They asked me about 10 question
When and where did we meet.
How did we continue the relationship
When did we meet for the first time.
Have I meet her family
Has she meet my family.
Where and when did i propose to her.
What are the wedding plans.
Which countries i have lived in.
How long I have been in the UK.... read complete review

I had my K-1 visa interview yesterday and it went great! My appointment was at 1pm, and I got there around 12. There was no one else there so I just sat on the ground next to the tent. At around 12.10, two women came out to the tent and checked me in - was quite surprised they let me in so early!

After going through security (with incredibly cheery guards dancing to the radio), I went through to the waiting area. It's huge, but there was only about 6 other people waiting for other types of visa's. I got called up to a window right away to show them my passport, photograph, letter, police certificates, birth certificate and affidavit of support. The guy was super nice. I had cut my ankle earlier in the day and he gave me a band aid to put on it

The next wait was a little longer, around 45 minutes. I think they only had 2 windows open for everyone. Anyway, by this point it was only just about 1pm so I wasn't complaining ... read complete review

Had to wait in a line of people all appointments were at same time they seem to take a group of people at a time. first you get your passport checked. then go through security , then you can enter building, once in you are given a ticket number. When your called you go up to booth and they check your dos and take your fingerprints, ad then you sit back down and wait for interview... this is done at a booth, takes around 20 mins. they check docs ask you a few questions. and then if you meet the crieria, advise you 2 weeks for visa... all in all 90 mins... i was impressed...
