Writing this for my fiance. Tim stayed at the Imperial College. They have rooms available during the summer term while the kids are out of school. The room was a little over £40 (breakfast included). He said the walls were thin and you could hear people talking but the reality was he was not going to get a great night sleep anyway.

He arrived at the embassy at 6:45 am and was first in line for his 8:00 am appointment time. They brought a tent out with a couple of desks and formed 2 lines. One for the Americans and one for all other visas. By about 7:30 there was about 40 people in line. At that desk they asked for his interview letter and passport and give him a plastic bag for his personal items. After going thru security he went to another desk where they checked his interview letter again and gave him a number and directed him to a large room with chairs and monitors to watch for your number.

First time he was called up a man at the window a... read complete review

Wow, so after all the stress and worry, I finally had my interview and it went swimmingly, with the magic words 'congratulations your visa has been approved' at the end! Please don't worry as much as I did!

I arrived at 645am for my 8am appointment. I was 3rd in line. By 7am there were about 20 people there, and by 730 when they open the doors and start letting you in, there must have been over 100. They split you off into two lines at 730, depending on your appointment time. I was actually through the door first, into the waiting room alone (for about 30 seconds).
You have to watch the big screen, and listen to the VERY annoying PING over and over and over as people get called up for various visas! I think Ive got neck strain now after jerking my head up in anticipation of my number being called.

As I think we all know, there are two steps, one is just handing over paperwork I134, birth certificate, police check, evidence of income, etc. Finger pr... read complete review

Took the 536am train from Doncaster to Kings Cross – arriving at 7:31am approx.
Needed the bathroom, a word of advice they charge 30p at the station to use the facilities :o
Got a cab and was on route to the embassy, so far so good, taxi fare from Kings Cross is around £15 the journey took around 15 minutes.

On arrival they was already two lines formed, one for 8am, one for 830, I joined the later as my appointment wasn’t until 9am. Within 5 minutes a lady walked the line to check our times, another line was formed for 9am’s, great I was fourth in line for this one 

Again the same lady came down asking which visa’s we have, K1 I informed her, she said go see that guy there he’ll get you straight through :D, so that was it front on the line and ready to go through the security scan. So struggling to put my belt back on I rounded the corner and climbed the steps. The receptionist looked at my appointment letter and issu... read complete review

Traveled all night by bus. Bus got a but delayed and I panicked a bit because my interview was at 8am. I was logged in at 7:57am.

I was called after about 40 minutes where i submitted required documents. The man asked when i intended to travel and wrote ASAP on my file.

I was called again after another 50 minutes. The lady was professional.
Questions: Tell me about your fiancee, when did she start work (i messed up the date). When last you visited and for how long. Beware of trick questions as she asked me if i studied in the UK as I am not from here, but i pointed i did work here. she did loads of typing and looked up and said I was approved.

General note: Please be encouraged (if you haven't had your interview), try and be calm. I am sure you'll be approved. No evidence of relationship was required! But please take what you think will be required. Also, be completely honest with them. Finally,I do pray and I think does help.
