My appointment was at 9am. I arrived about 40 minutes before my appointment and went up to the window bypassing all the long lines. The bloke at the front then sent me back to the queue, I insisted a few times that I was there for a spousal visa, but he just waved me off.
I luckily had my friend with me, so she stayed in the queue while I sought out another security person. She told me to go to the top of the non immigrant queue. The staff there looked at my letter, apologised and told me to wait with them. I was through security within 2 minutes.
I waited about 15 minute before I went to the first window. I pointed out a mistake that NVC had made, they had put me down for an IR-1 even though we haven't been married 2 years yet. They thanked me and offered to do all my paperwork now for an August entry. So that I could enter the States on an IR-1 visa and avoid the adjustment paperwork. I explained that I couldn't afford another medical and that I didn't want to s... read complete review

I arrived at the US Embassy around 07:30am for an 08:00am appointment time. I was directed to a middle line for Immigrant Visas. The line on my left was for 08:00am Non-Immigrant and on the right was 08:30am Non-Immigrant.
I was the 5th person into the embassy with number I905. After waiting around 30 minutes I was called to a window to hand over all my documents (birth certificate, police certificate, payment of visa and courier, passport, passport photo and affidavit of support). The lady congratulated me for getting married and asked me when I was planning on leaving and told me I must go by 21st July (6 months from my medical). She told me to sit back down until my number was called again for my interview.
30 minutes later, I was called to another window where I was sworn under oath and fingerprinted for my interview. The US gentleman asked the below questions. Upon seeing my fiancés birth certificate, he said: your fiancé is from Texas? So am I. ... read complete review

Just thought i would come on here and provide my London embassy experience.
I arrived at the consulate around 7:25am where a queue was already starting to form. I joined the queue and waited for the embassy to open. The staff were beginning to set up the checkpoint where they sign you in and give you a plastic bag for your watch, phone, belt etc. As i got closer to the front, i heard one staff member say that immigrant visas should come further to the front and join the small queue on the left. Once at the front, i had to provide my passport, appointment letter and confirmation of my DS-160. I then had my passport checked by a security man and was told to join the line for the room where you walk through the security barriers. All was smooth and was directed up the stairs and round the building. I was given my immigrant visa number I911. By this time it was about 8:30.
I wasn't called up the first window till about 9:00am. When i went up the window there ... read complete review
