Arrived 1120hrs for 1200 K1 interview. Passed through security checks ok. Lots of people in the waiting area on arrival. Everybody polite, friendly and helpful. Given a no. and waited to be called. went to booth and showed a chap my passport, interview confirmation sheet, form 160, 2 photos, original Birth certificate, name change deed poll and police check certificates (in my case two as I lived for a year in Australia). I was asked when I intended travelling to the USA and said 'August' , to which I was told that was fine as a visa issued today would be valid until October. Fingerprint scans were taken, passport kept by them and passport photos returned to me. I then returned to the waiting area to await being called again with the same no. After about 30 mins I was called again but to a different booth where a pleasant American lady asked how we met, when did we meet, where was I going to be living, where does my fiancée work and what type of work does, she do, have we met in perso... read complete review

I had a great experience at the embassy up until my interview.
My interview was at 12pm and I arrived at 11:15 which they let me straight through!
I waited for 20 mins before being called and was greeted by a lovely lady although I found it hard to hear her through the window. I gave her my documents and then she told me to sit back down.
30 minutes later I was called again and this time was greeted by a not so friendly lady. To tell you the truth she was awful. I was asked how often I spoke to my fiancé when we are apart and I said everyday which was not a lie at all. She raised an eyebrow and responded "everyday really?" And rolled her eyes. All the questions she asked was not related to our relationship as such. Mostly about his parents and what he does for a living. She then questioned why we weren't moving to the UK and when I said because my fiancé is still
In college that wasn't very acceptable to her. At that point I thought I had been denied an... read complete review

Like everyone has said it was SO much easier than I imagined and the crazy nerves beforehand were definitely not necessary. Everyone was super friendly there which I wasn't expecting.
Approved in less than 5 minutes after being asked
1. Where my fiance lived
2. If I've ever been to America and him to England
3. How I liked the state where he lives
4. What we do for work
5. Wedding plans
It was so quick I didn't even realise the interview part had started yet when she told me I was approved. I thought she was just making small talk before the scary 100 question interrogation I would surely be getting... but that never came. After she questioned me in her chatty way she just said "Well Nicole you've been approved and your visa will be there in around 12 days, congratulations now go call Ryan"

I literally had a complete brain blank thinking about writing this so here goes all I remember.
My appointment was at 12:30 but I seen quite a lot of people go earlier so at 11:35 I entered the white hut and then further through to the security. I got my number stuck to my forms upon entry into the embassy. I was told to take a seat in the large waiting room full to the brim with anxious faces - which did not help my anxiety. It must've been around 20 minutes and I was called to give in my evidence (affidavit of support, tax forms, passport, and birth certificate) and to give my fingerprints. The guy was nice enough and very straight to the point. Then I waited a further 40-45 minutes then I was called (by this point my anxiety was through the roof) however, the lady that interviewed me was the nicest lady ever!! She was Middle aged with blonde hair and American. She literally asked me a handful of questions about how I met my fiancé and if we'd met one another's families. Tha... read complete review
