Robert, a UK citizen, is my fiance, and his interview was on November 17, 2016. Our plans were for me to arrive in London on the morning of the interview and I would attend with him. About 6 weeks prior to the interview, we had sent a request to the US Embassy through their online form to have me added to the guest list for the day of his interview appointment. After receiving no confirmation from them, we submitted another form with the same request, but this time specifically requesting confirmation that I had been added. Still nothing. We didn't wish to harass them, so we just decided to take the risk that I may not be admitted into the embassy on the day.

I arrived at Heathrow, went through the border (told the border officer why I was there), and was outside with Robert at about 8:30am. We then began our mad dash to the embassy, stopping at Charing Cross station to drop off my large suitcase in their secure storage (and it really is secure and only £12.50 for ... read complete review

Pretty easy, white tent out the front, take your passport and printed email confirming your payment and interview date to the person manning it (30 mins max prior to appointment). She signs it and tells you to go see the guard (with paper and passport) to let you into the embassy, airport style security, bag/phone/wallet/metal through the xray scanner, you pass through the metal detector, done.
Leave the little office, turn right and head around the side of the building, talk to the receptionist, you give her the signed paper and passport, she gives you a number (for K1 I got an I number (I918)) you go up the stairs and sit in a large room with a load of chairs and wait for your number to come upon the screen (audible noise too - quite funny as when it goes off, all you see is everyone look up quickly at the screen) - Number comes up and tells you a window, you got to the window and give the person (she was very chatty for me) a 2x2 photo, birth certificate (long form with both ... read complete review

My fiance was missing a medical approval form from her GP but was otherwise approved. She said they were fairly nice to her. Its just a pain trying to get simple information over the phone when they only use the contact form.

I had my K1 interview this morning at the embassy in London and wanted to share my experience to help calm any nervous nellies out there. The process was relatively quick and seamless. I would suggest going early, as security allowed for early entrance. I arrived at 10:50 and was finished with the entire process by 12:00 (my interview was scheduled for 12:00).

I was asked:

Where did you meet your fiance?
When did you meet your finace?
How did you meet your finace?
[answered...]
What happened after you left [country that we met in]?

That's it! I was told my visa would be approved and arrive in 1-2 weeks.

Hi guys! I am fresh out of the embassy as I had my interview this morning and got approved
I thought I’d share my experience on here as I was EXTREMELY nervous and reading some of these reviews really helped me to get a better understanding of what to expect.

My appointment was at 12.00pm but as I read on here, first come first serve, so I left work at 10.15 am (my office is in Leicester Square) and got on the Northern line to Tottenham Court Road and then changed for the Central line to Marble Arch. From Marble Arch station, the embassy is less than 10 minutes (Citymapper says 7 minutes, but it took me 5). I was there just before 11 am.
When I got there, I was surprised to see a huge queue, but I quickly realised I belonged to the “left line” as that’s the one designated for Visa Services. I was seen by a lady that asked me to see my instructions letter/appointment confirmation, my DS-160 and my passport. She c... read complete review
