Appointment this morning went great. Turned up 30 mins before but after security checks (not too bad) and then going to reception they allow you to jump the Q and go upstairs to first floor early. They put a sticky number on your print out instructions and check the printed DS-160 confirmation page. MAKE SURE you print those two pieces of paper (not just showing it on your phone like one person in front of me did!) as they only accept printed copies.
Went to separate immigration area left out of lifts on the first floor. Only about 5 people waiting so was ten mins early anyway and got called on time. Lady on first window took documents - originals not copies - and one photo and then did finger prints. My medical was there as i had done it two weeks before and called last week to check they sent it. They handed me CD of results to keep.

The interview at the embassy went very smoothly. I had read reviews before I went for it so I knew what to expect. I was at their newly opened embassy in London (march, 2018). I arrived half an hour before my appointment and followed the directions emailed to me the day before my interview from the embassy.
I went through airport type security on arrival and was directed by staff from then on. The area for k1 visas was around the corner from the main area and had a handful of people so I didn't have to wait long to be called forward to give my police report, birth certificate, passport and affidavit of support to a very nice man. I was informed at this point that they had not received my medical but the process could continue.
