Salaam All,

My husbands interview was scheduled for April 3rd, 2018 at 8 am.

We booked a room at the Premier Inn hotel which is about a 4-6 minute drive to the US embassy in Abu Dhabi. We reached the embassy at 5:55 am and we were the first in line. There are 2 sets of benches. One for immigrant visas, and one for non-immigrant visas.

We sat on the benches for immigrant visa. My husband had all of his documents in a file and we used the NMC medical exam bag that was given to carry all the files to the embassy and the embassy security said it was fine. We waited until 6:30 until another couple showed up and joined us on the bench. As we waited, more and more people began to arrive. At about 7:00, there were about 50 people in line. So its a good idea to go as early as possible.

At 7:10 the security guards arrived and reminded everyone that bags are not allowed inside the embas... read complete review

I had my interview in March 2018 at 8 am. I came just before 8 am. I was out exactly at 12 pm.The CO who interviewed me was very friendly. She asked me how I met my husband, how long have I lived in Dubai ,what I do for work, what my husband does for work, where we'll be living. My interview took less than 10 minutes. Then when the CO was done typing some things, She said “Congratulations!” javascript:emoticon('')

Rejected even though they said everything was great because of travel ban.

I tried to go in to see if there is anything I can do or just get closure, as aUS citizen and they wouldn’t even let me in the Embassy. Gatekeeper was obviously a foreigner or definitely not raised in the US thats for sure... how can they deny a US citizen to enter their own embassy...

I asked to talk to another person even if its at the gate and the lady every sentence I said would just keep cutting me off sayjng “no sorry” so unprofessional and I feel it was totally racism. My fiance was sitting on the bench and when she asked if thats my fiance thats when she immediately started cutting me off and just saying too bad, no, no.. etc.

I would not recommend going to this embassy, if you were getting chased by hooligans the gatekeeper would probably just say “too bad” and not give you a safe haven
