Review Topic: K1 Visa

The interview was at 08:30am. I was there at 07:45 but they told me to come at 08:15. There were many people waiting and applying for different types of visas. It was 09:15 when I was in the waiting room. First they called for fingerprints and then for the interview. It was 11:10 when they called me for the interview. It lasted only 5 min. The lady was very kind and asked me how we communicate, when we met last time and about my former visit to US. Then she said "now you are going back, have a nice trip". The interview was very short and kind but I`d waited so long and that was very stressful and my visa came 3 days later.

My fiancee had his interview Aug 31st. I emailed the consulate prior to the interview to ask what to expect after it, if it was the last step, or if I needed to be prepared for something else. Their reply just said that the visa would be issued by mail. Fero said his interview went well. He didn't wait too long. The woman that interviewed him was friendly. She congratulated him and told him his visa would arrive in 3 days.

Ferhat is a very thorough person, very detail oriented. He thought he might need a name clearance because he'd needed one when he first came to the US on a J1 visa. However, when she didn't mention it, he was very relieved.

SUPRISE!!! His passport was arrived with no visa, only a paper with a box checked that said administrative processing, and another box that reminded us that his medical exam would expire within a certain amount of time. He'd already given his two week notice at work. I'd been skipping around and smiling al... read complete review

This is a review by my Fiancée:

She said everybody was polite and her experience was good. The Officer wanted her to speak in English rather than Farsi(what we've requested). She started speaking English after seeing that her signature was in English. The Officer asked her why she chose Farsi when she is good at speaking English.

The officer told her everything was good except she needs to go through AP, and to come back after her number appears online with her passport only. The Officer asked her about her job. My Fiancée said they were all nice. The whole experience was good except the waiting.

Made to wait 90 mins past the scheduled interview time by 90 mins.

No issues during the interview, just wanted to see email chat/pictures and asked several questions about the petitioner.

Was asked when she would be travelling to the US.

Interview was in english, Umit attempted turkish, but the woman wanted to speak english (mostly).

All in all, very smooth.
