It wasn't that bad. The line was long though.

Overall, a really good experience!

My interview was scheduled at 8.30. I showed up at 7.45, and confusedly tried to enter the embassy without standing in the line – because I didn't see the line for immigrant visas, as no one was there! I further embarrassed myself when I tried to show the guard my bag and everything promptly fell out. "OH NO!" I thought, but hoped that this was the only awkwardness I had to deal with. Once I passed through the security I was directed to the waiting room where I was told to go to a window where a nice, younger lady collected my documents. Unlike many others, she did ask me for evidence of our relationship! I had only brought a couple of things, but I gave them a booklet of pictures from our wedding, which she accepted. After one of the embassy people marvelled at how old my UK marriage certificate looked (rude!), and she defended it as being cute (thnx!), I was told to wait for the interview itself.

I don't know ... read complete review

I had my interview at the embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. I arrived at approximately 7.45 my Interview was set at 8.30. I saw this looooong line that went into a glas "box" but I knew that was for non immigrants. Right infront of the security booth I found the yellow pole and sign for immigrants. I was standing there for about 2 minutes and then the security guards called me up (got to go before everyone in the other line) He looked at my passport and under my shoes. They opened the door so I could go through the "airport" security check. They took my phone, put it in a box and gave me a recipe so I could collect It on my way out. Followed the yellow line up to the building and went inside. There I met another guard and he asked my errand and I said immigrant visa. He then told me to go to booth 7. There I got to talk to a friendly swedish woman and she took the documents that she asked for (not all dokuments that we are told to bring only some of them). She told me to have a seat and wa... read complete review

My appointment was at 8.30, but arrived already at 7.45, just to be sure. I seemed to be the first to arrive in the immigration line and waited two minutes until the security guard waved at me to step up to the security check point.

Once through security, I entered the embassy - the guard gave me a number to wait to talk to the receptionist. After 15 minutes it was my turn, but the woman immediately said "you're immigration, just go up to window number 7". (I thought that it was correct to just go to the window, but the guard basically stuffed the ticket in my hand the moment I stepped in, so figured maybe they had changed their procedure).

Well, at window number 7 I waited for a few minutes, then a very nice lady came up and started taking my paperwork. Apparently she didn't want any copies of anything, even though that's clearly stated in the e-mail, so my great folder organisation turned out to be not so smooth for her. Here I had spent so much time t... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Here is my experience of the US Embassy in Stockholm.

My appointment time was 08:30 but I arrived closer to 07:45, there are two lines one for US Citizens and Immigrant visa applications and another for all other visas. I stood in the Immigrant line (Yellow sign post) and was the only one there, the other line had approximately 20 - 30 people waiting.

I was there for just a few minutes before the security officer called me up and asked to see my passport through the glass, I was then instructed to turn around and show the bottom of of my shoes, and asked to turn off my mobile phone, which they stored for me at the security desk.

Once through security I was told to follow the yellow line on the floor to a small building where the visa interviews are conducted, inside a security guard asked me what kind of visa I was there for, I said K1 and he told me to go to window nr 7 to hand over my supporting documentation.

At the window ... read complete review
