Had the K1 interview yesterday - it was about 2.5 hours from walking in to walking out (most of it is spent waiting to be called to a counter).
After submitting all our documents, I waited and was called to a different counter for the interview. It was actually quite short - about 15 minutes.
The interviewer was friendly, and asked:
- When was the last time you saw your fiance?
- How and when did you meet?
- Tell me your story?
- What are your wedding plans and what are your plans once you've entered the US?
- What kind of job/work are you going to do once you're able to work (Green Card issued)?
She said well done our application looks really good and we had all the documents they required. Congratulations, and she'd approve it later in the day.
Done!

For those of you wondering if AP means 2 weeks or 6+ months, as mentioned in the pink form they give you.

I stood in the queue outside from around 7:30am. We were let in at 8am, and I was #15.
When I was eventually called up to submit my documents, I was asked for my birth certificate original and copy, my original and copy of divorce doc as well as a copy of my fiance's (so glad I had this!!!!), I134 and other financial proof (NB they want tax transcripts!!!!!), as well as all proof of relationship - only paperclips allowed, no plastic sleeves etc.
I was then sent back to my seat to wait for the interview.
I said an oath,
She handed me the legal sheet explaining rights in the us re domestic violence etc and then chatted about it briefly.
I then was asked:
when did you meet and where/how?
when did you see him last?
Tell me about your first visit.
How much does your fiance make per year?
Questions on how I validate my short relationship pre engagement.
Questions about kids following to join.

The interview was relatively quick and easy. Much better than expected. Arrived at the consulate at 12:00. I met some other people there who applied for spousal visas. The security guard came out at 13:00. He asked for your name, checked it off on his tablet and then check to see whether your passport photos are the right size. You then have to switch off your phone and hand in any phones and electronics you have on you. They keep it in a plastic bin until you’re done. You can however take in your handbag etc. We went through to the room where the interviews are done. A lady there asks for your passport, and gives you a number. You then get called to the first set of windows by number. They take your fingerprints and then asks for your documents one by one. First all the official docs like UBC, PCC, proof of payment, etc. after that the financial support affidavit and supporting docs. And then for any evidence of relationship you have. From there you sit down again. You get call... read complete review

So, we stayed at an AirBNB within walking distance from the consulate and Sandton City. For those traveling outside of Johannesburg, I recommend this because you will have everything you need right there. To the interview, you cannot park or drop off at the consulate. You must park at Sandton Ciry and cross the street. For us, it didn’t matter that we were one of the first in line and sitting on the bench. The lady came out at exactly one on and said...â€if you are here as an immagrant form a que here...†which was on the other side of the rope from us, so the people who came in five minutes from one wound up at the front of the line. So if you do get there early enough to get a bench, be ready to move to the front of the line on the other side of the ropes. The side where the benches are is a que for citizen matters only Once we were lined up, they asked for names to verify we were in system. They took about five in the building at a time. Once inside, you ... read complete review
